Support of the religious and other charitable work of the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of the Heart of Jesus. This includes providing accomodation and support for sick people, and their relatives, whilst they are receiving hospital treatment in London. In addition grants are made to support the work of the Congregation overseas in various countries, includ Malta and Kenya.

The main beneficiary of the Trust is the Hospital of St.John and St. Elizabeth. As matters stand the Trustees are satisfied with the way in which the Hospital is conducted and accordingly all the Trust income is payable to the Hospital. 40tude is an innovative and successful charity that is tackling colon cancer.Since the organisation was founded in 2011 we have raised over £2.5 million to raise awareness and support ground-breaking research into the early diagnosis and treatment of colon (bowel) cancer. We are helping to fund ground-breaking research programmes at St. Mark's Hospital, the national bowel hospital.

The relief of sickness of children with cancer and leukaemia receiving treatment in the Tiger Ward at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, London or such other hospitals or organisations as the trustees may determine, by the provision of financial support to such persons and their families suffering hardship during their time of illness, and by any other charitable means

According to our contract with Birmingham City Council we assist older patients after their discharge home from hospitals and elsewhere. Four teams help discharged patients and one of these also works with Falls patients in Birmingham; research, discharge and aftercare; monitor our work e.g. the needs of patients and the help given; participate in the work of national and local organisations.

Provide equipment and facilities, enhance the level of staff training and to promote research. It also aims to improve the environment of both patients and staff and to provide for expenditure on other charitable purposes that the Trust would otherwise be unable to provide from exchequer funds (i.e. recreational facilities and small Christmas gifts for patients, children etc.)

The main purpose of the charitable funds held on trust is to apply income for any charitable purpose relating to the National Health Service wholly or mainly for the services provided by the Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.

To act as a catalyst through a programme of grant making, to include:- (1) providing grants to agencies best placed to distribute one-off grants to people in need; and (2) projects tackling unmet health needs and the affects of poverty.
