Independent local charity in Stockport providing practical and emotional support to people with sight or hearing loss. Services include a resource centre demonstrating and selling assistive equipment; social and activity groups; helpdesk and other information services in accessible formats; informal advocacy and specialist counselling for people with a sight loss.

Day activities, services and support to adults with physical and/or sensory disabilities and their carers.

The charity provides a club where visually impaired people may meet socially enjoying weekly activities, entertainment & support specifically for those with sight loss. Regular days out and an annual holiday for members can be enjoyed. The club is open every week for two days & runs entirely on a self funded and voluntary basis.

Newcastle Vision Support supports 1,300 people living with sight loss. Our numbers grow by 100 new referrals each year. The Objects of the Company shall be the educational, physical, social and spiritual well being of deaf, deafened, hard of hearing and Deafblind (hereinafter referred to as deaf) people of all ages and their families mainly but not exclusively in the county of Cumbria.

Our aim is to raise awareness of visual impairment through training packages. The package product gives a simulation of various eye conditions and the difficulties faced by visual impaired people in their everyday living. We also aim to assist visually impaired people living in the North East of England by awarding grants twice a year.

The charity, raises funds to be used for various good causes, including for the blind, elderly, sick and underprivileged people.It has helped various medical centres and educational bodies and run a Food for Life Programme as well as a cow protection scheme. Overall, apart from the above, over 85 Eye camps were carried out during the year and 4 Ambulances were donated during the year.

The McCabe Educational Trust is the charitable partner to McCabe Pilgrimages. We aim to give something back to the many inspiring people we meet on pilgrimage. We do this with practical financial support for childrens homes, schools for the blind, rehabilitation hospitals and similar projects.

BASIS provides emotional and practical support to visually impaired people in South Essex. We do this through equipment demonstration at our Resource Centre, home visit assessments, befriending services, social activity groups and providing support at the local eye clinic.
