The Obelisk Centre provides recreaional facilities in the actual building and playing fields.The facilities are available for use by a local football club providing training and social arrangements for boys and girls under 18 years of age. The newspaper is distributed on USB memory sticks and uploaded onto the BWBF streamed service for accessing through the Talking Newspaper app and on smart speakers such as Alexa.

Every month we produce a Talking Magazine and periodically we record the local council info "Otley Matters". Our listeners either receive a USB stick by post or listen online. Our area covers Otley, Guiseley, Pool, Bramhope, Rawdon, Horsforth, Adel, Cookridge, Ilkley, Menston, Burley and Addingham.

The free provision for the registered blind or partially sighted of recordings of a weekly talking newspaper with local news, a monthly talking magazine with topics of interest and a talking books library service.

Monies are raised from store collections, collecting tins, special events which are used to provide social occasions and other assistance to improve the wellbeing of our members
