The charity raises money to make grants for the maintenance and repair of historic churches of all Christian denominations in the County of Gloucestershire.

We also maintain the church itself, which is a Grade II listed building set in the heart of Epping Forest. We work closely with the local school, High Beech Church of England Primary School.

The CIO achieves its objectives by renting The Cedars, a Grade II listed Regency town house in Chertsey, to Runnymede Borough Council under a long-term agreement. The Council runs a local history museum from The Cedars known as Chertsey Museum. Under the agreement the Council curates, stores and displays items from the collection. The CIO pays the Council a contribution towards its costs.
