The British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies promotes the study of all aspects of eighteenth-century cultural history. The society publishes the Journal for Eighteenth-Century Studies four times a year. It organises a major conference in Oxford every January and a postgraduate conference in the summer. It is affiliated to the International Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies.

Of notable interest is the collection of Japanware, which was a speciality of the Pontypool district in the eighteenth century. The Trust also provides educational services in the area.

The Trust offers financial assistance to support education, culture and and historical research with a Polish focus. This includes supporting publications, exhibitions and symposia. There is a particular emphasis on Polish history since 1914 and the emigre movement.

The Ted Ellis Trust maintains a nature reserve at Wheatfen Broad, Surlingham in the Yare Valley SSSI in Norfolk with extensive walks open to the public all year round. The Friends of the Trust organise fund raising events and run courses, mainly on natural history. The warden also leads guided walks and give talks.

Guildford Area U3a organises in excess of 100 groups for persons retired or semi-retired. For an annual donation members are able to attend groups in Art,Crafts,Discussion,Drama,Games,Health Fitness & Leisure,History Languages, Literature, Music, Research and the Sciences.

The Sikh Education Council is a team of professional Sikh volunteers concentrating on esoteric teachings from the Guru Granth Sahib and Sikh history, working for the betterment of humankind. The Faculty organises eponymous lectures, part-time courses in the History of Medicine, a part-time courses in Ethics & the Philosophy of Healthcare, provides funding for undergraduates attending these courses and arranges joint meetings and symposia.
