Benefiting the people of the Swindon area by preserving the built heritage (of particular historical, architectural or constructional interest); by developing and operating facilities for the education, recreation or other leisure time occupation in the interests of social welfare; and providing activities supportive of community development, and of regeneration and renewal.

The aim of the trust is to preserve 'The Archive Collection' at the Gordon Russell Design Museum for the benefit of those interested in the history of 20th century furniture design, including students, researchers and the general public, whilst continuing to develop an educational role and links with schools and colleges offering design related courses and seminars.

Croydon U3A provides opportunities for participation in over 65 member-led groups including languages, chess, rambling, history, Scrabble, poetry - to name but a few. There is a lively outings and holidays programme and a monthly general meeting to which an outside speaker is invited. Members can attend summer schools run by the U3A national office, and study days organised by other local groups.

To conserve and promote the historical, architectural and archaeological heritage of the old church at Murston; to advance the education of the public generally and especially in the subjects of history, archaeology, ecology art and design, including the establishment and running of an arts centre and the erection of additional buildings for such purposes at the old church at Murston.

The trust's principal activities in New Alresford are:- Operating a local community minibus. Running markets in Broad Street. Lessor of the Old Fire Station. Maintaining the avenue and trees in Broad Street. Administering the Arthur Stowell History Fund. Operating a 99 year lease on the Eel House and finalising the restoration. The maintenance and development of the Alresford Museum.

To create interest and raise funds to maintain, preserve, restore and display the Lancaster Bomber "City of Lincoln" and any other aeroplanes and objects of historical interest associated with the Lancaster or the Royal Air Force for the benefit of the public and as a memorial to Bomber Command personnel during the 1939-1945 war.

To promote family history and assist all those indviduals who wish to research their family history. To record and illustrate the history of the town and waterway of Milford Haven. To promote the education of Milford Haven history to local schools and colleges.

The objects of the society shall be the encouragement of army historical research, and the promotion and maintenance of regimental and military traditions including:- a) Research, (b) Quarterly Publication of a Journal contaning original articles, military manuscripts and other material, advice and encouragement to those interested including students, and a lecture programme

The North Devon Athenaeum provides resources and advice to the general public on local and family history within the North Devon and West Country area. The North Devon Athenaeum holds and maintains extensive collections of local and general interest books, as well as historical documents about local and family history.

Family history & genealogy

The park contains a range of facilities for visitors and users including grass sport football and cricket (grass and sytnthtic). Multi Use Games Area, large children's Play Area, fishing pools, Youth Shelter, community pavilion, outdoor gym equipment, historical features, and network of footpaths for walking. The park friends group organises a range of activites/events throughout the year.

Magic Lantern runs interactive art history workshops in schools and a range of adult groups including prisons, homeless centres and hospices. We show that anyone can understand and enjoy art. We also show how art can enhance and bring to life any curriculum subject or topic and can help develop a range of life skills including problem solving, critical thinking, communication and confidence.

The preservation, repair and maintenance of the fabric and furnishing of the church of St Michael the Archangel,Mere, and to promote its use as a place of worship. To promote the appreciation of the Church of St Michael the Archangel as a building of architectural and historical interest.

Disseminating historical information to members of the Society and the general public, by way of meetings, discussion, correspondence, papers and visits to objects and places of interest& fostering historical investigation and research & encouraging the collection and preservation of examples& arranging for the presentation of original papers and publishing them

Family History Society

We run training programmes in oral history techniques, run a website, publish a journal, run a regional network, offer advice, run an annual conference, act as a focal point for oral history and deal with ethical issues, archiving and technical developments for dissemination.

To advance education and to promote research into and study of archaeology, architecture and history and kindred subjects, especially in their relation to one another; to make available to the public the results of such research through lecture meetings and an annual journal, Oxoniensia, containing papers and articles and other items of local archaeological or historical interest.

Use of hall for village activities, including PCC meetings, mother & toddler, nursery & pre-school, pilates, yoga, karate, flower show, history club, cafe, parties, dog shows, weddings, film shows and country fair.
