The Museum exists to tell the story of the Regiment's (and its predecessors' and successors') history and achievements by collecting, preserving and displaying the Regiment's collection of artifacts from its formation in 1694 to the present day for the benefit of present members of the Regiment, the residents of the County, those further afield with a specialised interest and visitors to the area.

The provision of a modern, fully equipped and maintained, multi purpose community centre. Its principal focus is recording the Jewish, the Refugee and the wide Immigrant contribution to British visual culture since 1900. The provision and maintenance of a museum in or near the City of Ely for the public exhibition of articles illustrative of the history of Ely and the fenland, and specimens of the fine and useful arts, ethnology, archaeology, geology, botany and natural history. Restoration of the former Pleasley Colliery steam winding engines and ancillary equipment by voluntary group from the local and adjoining communities to form a museum including the social history of the area. The Blackpool Museum Trust will support the Blackpool Museum Project (Showtown) to promote the education of the public by supporting the establishment and maintenance of the Museum. It will promote the awareness and appreciation of popular culture, including nationally important objects relating to Blackpool's heritage.

The Gallery, built in 1856 and substantially extended in 2021, houses a unique collection of works by 20th C artists who have lived in N.W. Essex, eg. Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious, Michael Rothenstein. Other contemporary works are included to demonstrate the area's continuing artistic tradition. Over forty artists are represented in the Collection - owned by The N. W. Essex Collection Trust.

Maintains museum store of artefacts, mounts exhibitions and undertakes outreach work and events concerned with the heritage of the Dacorum area of Hertfordshire.

Eyam Museum Ltd. operates a small museum whose central theme is the outbreak of bubonic plague in Eyam in 1665/66. The museum tells the story of the village from prehistoric to modern times, with sets, graphic panels, and artefacts.

Lectures, coffee mornings, indoor games and a library are provided. For younger residents awards are made for educational purposes including participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

The operation of a museum in St Neots
