Our volunteers are restoring Shillingstone Station on the old Somerset and Dorset Railway, with a section of the original line, to how it was in the 1950s/60s. Work includes the renovation of the station buildings, platforms and railway infrastructure, plus the restoration of heritage rolling stock. We have a small museum, shop and cafe, for the benefit of local residents, visitors and volunteers.

The purpose of The Soldiers of Oxfordshire Trust is to collect, document, preserve, display and to provide greater access to the material and stories that convey the military life of Oxfordshire and its people through the museum and associated activities. The Trust owns and runs Brook Rural Museum. The Museum is housed in a magnificent 14th century barn and an important early 19th century oast house, and is devoted to an important collection of objects relating to the agriculture of Kent. Most of the collection relates to the period when animals provided the main source of power for farm work.
