To relieve and assist women of good character who are over the age of 50 who are in need, in particular by the provision of social housing in the form of almshouse accommodation and facilities for such women on terms appropriate to their needs.

The charity provides and maintains accommodation for "poor persons of good character who (except in special cases) are resident in Stamford at the time of their appointment as an Almsperson" in return for a weekly maintenance contribution. The Trustees may also apply income of the charity for the general benefit of the poor as they think fit in ways listed in the Charity Commission charter.

The Foundation is a grant giving educational charity supporting Schools in the Huntingdon area . It also provides financial assistance to students and former students of Schools in the Huntingdon area up to the age of 25 and Community Grants to local voluntary groups working with young people. The organisation provides almshouse accommodation to residents who have met the qualifying criteria, Residents are us required to pay a weekly maintenance contribution towards the upkeep of the property and the running of the charity so the cost to them is lower than the cost of renting in the private sector. The organisation also provides grants to people and other organisations.
