The main objects of the charity are to provide for relief in need and in sickness of persons resident in the area of the Ancient Parish of Kingsbury. Subject to the approval of the Charity Commissioners the trustees may provide land and buildings to be appropriated and used as almshouses for the accommodation of residents.

The charity continues to provide almshouses with on site warden assistance to the residents in order to provide the care and time the Trustees consider sufficient.

The charity provides and maintains accommodation for "poor persons of good character who (except in special cases) are resident in Stamford at the time of their appointment as an Almsperson" in return for a weekly maintenance contribution. The Trustees may also apply income of the charity for the general benefit of the poor as they think fit in ways listed in the Charity Commission charter.

The Foundation is a grant giving educational charity supporting Schools in the Huntingdon area . It also provides financial assistance to students and former students of Schools in the Huntingdon area up to the age of 25 and Community Grants to local voluntary groups working with young people. Provision of almshouses for older people of Colchester.

The organisation provides almshouse accommodation to residents who have met the qualifying criteria, Residents are us required to pay a weekly maintenance contribution towards the upkeep of the property and the running of the charity so the cost to them is lower than the cost of renting in the private sector. The organisation also provides grants to people and other organisations.
