Housing Charities

Makes grants or loans to persons resident in the parishes of Fittleworh and Stopham, Bedham in the parish of Wisborough Green, Coldwaltham and Watersfield in the parish of Coldwaltham and Egdean in the parish of Petworth who are sick, convalescent, disabled, handicapped or infirm. The purpose of the grants or loans is typically to assist with travelling expenses to hospital, help in the home etc.

To raise funds from Doon School's alumni and Friends of Doon for the purposes of supporting:1) economically disadvantaged students to study at Doon by way of bursary and scholarship programmes; and 2) important development projects (e.g. smart classrooms, housing facilities, laboratories, new buildings, etc.)

The trustees firstly administer the charity's income to include the repair and insurance of The Fishermen's Rest Room NR30 3AH. The remaining income is administered by giving hardship grants to people who have work in fishing, other than for sport or pastime, worked in connection with the beach and sea in the Gt. Yarmouth area, excluding those persons employed in the amusement or scavenging areas.

To support retired teachers who have taught in Church of England schools in the Diocese of Chester and are communicant members of the Church and to support those who have taught in a Church of England Church in the Diocese for at least five years.

The principal activity of the charity was to rescue and provide shelter for stray, neglected, injured, unwanted and abandoned animals and find suitable homes, to make provision for the spaying or neutering of animals, and to advance the education of the public in animal ownership and care.

The charity is helped by a donation from The Southwold Trust each year which enables it to distribute an annual sum to some fourty homes in the area of Southwold. This is done around the time of Christmas and amounts to ?50 donated to such homes as is considered in need of some help.

Residents of the Homes shall be appointed by the Incumbent and Church Wardens of Pudsey Parish Church

1.TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC AT LARGE IN AGRICULTURE,HOME CRAFTS,COUNTRY LIFE,AND RELATED SUBJECTS

Providing gifts of bedding, clothing, food, fuel, furniture, useful articles and gifts of money to relieve sickness, infirmity or distress.Payment of travelling expenses of persons entering/leaving hospital, convalescent homes or similar. Provision of tools, books, payment of fees for instructions or examination, traveling expenses or such other means as will assist persons preparing for work.

Distributing Christian literature in this country, in prisons and abroad. Helping the homeless and persons with Addictions in the UK .

SUPPORTING WORK OF AND PROVIDING HOME FOR THE PASTOR OF THE GERMAN SEAMEN'S MISSION, WHEN LOCATED IN MIDDLESBROUGH WHOSE BRIEF IS TO SERVE SEAFARERS, IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR NATIONALITY, CALLING AT NORTH EAST UK PORTS, PRINCIPALLY TEESPORT AND HARTLEPOOL, AND PRIMARILY ON GERMAN FLAG OR GERMAN MANAGED SHIPS

Letting of Alms House

The Charity is established particularly but not exclusively for the benefit of Angolans in need and residing in London. We relieve poverty by providing advice and information on Housing, Health, Social Security Benefits,Immigration issues and Employment opportunities, advance education particularly by the provisions of supplementary school for children.Angolan project providing advocacy/casework.

The WI organisation enables women to improve and advance their education in citizenship, arts, music, drama, handicrafts, home economics, health and social welfare. It gives women the opportunity of working together to benefit themselves and their local community. Our voice is heard on national matters through our head office.

The principal charities and/or community services currently supported are Garden House Hospice for North Hertfordshire, Mary's Meals (Uganda), Home Start , and Disaster Relief generally.

Maintain the building that houses the memorial to the fallen of the 385th bombardment group.

At present we give two annual payments at Christmas and at the AGM in September) to needy pensioners in the Hackney area. Home visits are made to deliver these payments.

Applicants should be resident in London Borough of Harrow. Grants allowed are discretionary based on essential needs rather than desirable, this includes provision of basic living conditions- food, clothing, heating essential furnishings such as beds, cookers, rugs, childcare equip,health treatment. Grants towards holidays/school trips for children from homes in difficult financial circumstances.

Funding for the benefit of seafarers on the Tees

Upkeep and maintenance of almshouses and the benefit of the residents

Residential seminars and trips for families, with lectures/workshops and childrens programmes. One to one learning centres using volunteer tutors. Programmes for parents of children in primary schools. Home group regular discussions/education with a member of the seed staff. Large events with mixed educational/social content. Community-based educational and religious programmes.

We meet monthly for the purpose of fellowship and have educational speakers. We support our village fetes with baking cakes and arrange outings to look at buildings, stately homes, museums and Federation activities.

Block of 3 Almshouses which are available for occupation by mature applicants.

Provide accommodation for people in need who live or are connected with the parish of Brimfield, Herefordshire.
