Housing Charities

The charity (as landlord) is responsible for providing the premises of the Armenian Church of St Sarkis, Iverna Gardens, Kensington and church hall to the St Sarkis Parish Council and the adjacent vicarage as residential accommodation.

Neighbourcare gives assistance to the community in variety of ways: Transport to doctors and hospitals; Shopping; cleaning; gardening; relieving carers; visiting the housebound; sitting service; Home from Hospital Help; Fetching prescriptions; Pop in Service; Filling forms; meals on wheels referrals; Lunch Club, Community Shop and a Silver Surfer Internet Cafe to teach IT skills to the over 50s.

The charity works in the Belle Isle area of Leeds and supports older people to remain living at home. We offer activities in the following areas of need: Social Contact; Health Promotion; Safety & Security; Winter Warmth and help around the House and Home.

Provision of housing for older local people

Serving the local community and providing important experiences for children between home and school. Your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 areas of learning and development. Friends of the Sick (Chevrat Bikkur Cholim) is an independent charity whose objective is to provide support workers to members of the Jewish Community who are incapacitated through accident, ill-health, old age or any other reason. The Charity strives to achieve this by providing one-on-one support in the homes of members of the Jewish Community who live in the London area.

To let 16 dwelling houses, in the first instance to disabled ex-service men who have resided in the City of Birmingham for not less than two years consecutively.The Trust may let to poor persons, giving preference to elderly persons, in the case of an insufficiency of ex-service men.

Services offered include home visiting service,cookery/handicraft/social and computer skills sessions, hold a monthly book club. We have a resource centre with specialist equipment. Produce a newsletter and a talking newspaper. We provide information to access benefits/allowances/health care services and assistance with paperwork. People can self-refer or use our drop-in/telephone enquiry service.

HYT enables young volunteers to work alongside Ugandans in meeting basic humanitarian needs, such as housing, water and education. HYT promotes sustainable development, particularly the use of appropriate technology for low carbon construction, which preserves the environment. HYT also helps Ugandans develop skills for future employment and generating income.
