To enable women to improve and develop conditions of rural life, advance their education in citizenship, in public questions both national and international, in music, drama and other cultural subjects, in all branches of agriculture, home economics, health and social welfare. It gives women the opportunity of working together and putting into those ideals for which is stands.

The charity provides for those in need, by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability or financial hardship, such beneficiaries being of the Jewish faith and living in the local Jewish community or with a significant connection to the local Jewish community. For the advancement of the Jewish faith the charity also makes grant to synagogues in the local Jewish community.

From our own premises we provide a meeting place for the benefit of the people of Hockley and Hawkwell aged 55 or over. Freshly cooked lunches, light refreshments and afternoon entertainment are available, 4 days a week, Monday to Thursdays. We have our own modified ambulance to collect and return the disabled and elderly to their homes.

The Charity provides housing in 15 Almshouses on one site in Harrogate town centre. The Charity criteria stipulates applicants must have a true housing need, be over 60, have a clear connection with the administrative area of Harrogate Borough (as defined in 1974) or Bradford Metropolitan District Council and be capable of independent living.

The principal activity of the charity is the provision of almshouses for old people who are incapable by age or infirmity of earning their living and who have led respectable virtuous sober and upright lives. So far as practicable preference shall be given to those who are natives of or have lived many years in or near the City of Nottingham.

The work of BCM involves holding children's clubs in churches, schools and homes and holding camps. The ministry also includes organising holiday clubs, taking school assemblies, playgroups, teaching and preaching engagements.

We work in Asia mainly in India, Nepal, Thailand and Brazil where we help children and young people in these countries, giving them a home, food, clothing, an education and an opportuntiy to be able to go into the work place and earn enough to keep them and their famalies if they still have parents. Our homes are called Wyresdale Children's Homes as this is our home area.

The Charity acts as a resource body providing funds to build homes for abandoned, destitute and orphaned children in India. Additionally, the Charity, also, provides funds to run and maintain the homes it builds in India.

Provision of housing and other assistance for people in financial need from the area of benefit

The Charity's prime function is the provision and maintenance of almshouses. The Charity owns 31 almshouses all in Hadleigh.

We maintain and equip the village Recreation Ground that serves a catchment population of around 1,000. It comprises a football pitch, multi-use games area, children's play area, cricket field and Grindleton Pavilion which houses a large community hall, smaller meeting room and changing rooms.Upkeep is funded by donations, fund-raising and hire income with grant application for capital projects.

To provide housing accommodation either free of rent or at nominal rents for needy men and women of the age of sixty five years and over and normally resident in the City of St Albans or having family or other associations therewith and with preference being given to persons who are habitual members of Dagnall Street Baptist Church St Albans.

The Society provides accommodation at private boarding kennels and catteries together with veterinary treatment for dogs and cats abandoned or unwanted by their owners within the Staffordshire Moorlands. Help is also provided for animals who have become homeless due to the ill health, hospitalisation or the death of their owner. Healthy animals are not put down.

From net income, relief generally or individually to persons resident in Selby District in conditions of need, hardship or distress by making grants or by otherwise paying for items, services or facilities to reduce the need hardship or distress subject to conditions contained in the Charity Commission Scheme.

The two main purposes of HUC are to operate almshouses in Hitchin and to support apprenticeships, together with more general eleemosynary purposes.
