THE CHARITY WAS FORMED TO PROVIDE ALMSHOUSES FOR 17 POOR PERSONS OF EITHER SEX, MARRIED OR UNMARRIED AND BEING MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND OF WHOM, AS NEARLY AS POSSIBLE, SIX SHALL BE WOMEN AND ELEVEN SHALL BE MEN. ALMSPEOPLE SHALL HAVE RESIDED IN THE CITY OF CANTERBURY FOR NOT LESS THAN 7 YEARS AND SHALL BE PERSONS OF NOT LESS THAN 55 YEARS OF AGE.
