THE CHARITY CONTINUED IN ITS OBJECTIVES TO PROVIDE RECREATIONAL FACILITIES, EDUCATION AND A COMMUNITY CENTRE FOR THE INHABITANTS OF BARNHILL AND SURROUNDING AREAS. THE USE OF FACILITIES FOR LOCAL COMMUNITY GROUPS IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE AS REFERRED TO IN THE PREVIOUS YEAR'S REPORT. OTHER LETTINGS INCOME WAS HIGHER THAN LAST YEAR, AND WE ARE WORKING HARD TO MAINTAIN THIS.

The principal activity of the company in the year under review continued to be the holding of property and investments for the purpose of supporting institutions or objects of public benefit to the inhabitants of the town and neighbourhood of Newport, Shropshire, having regard to promoting the healthy and beneficial occupation of the time of the said inhabitants for leisure and recreation

THE BEATRICE DREWE TRUST OWNS AND MANAGES THE BUILDINGS KNOWN AS TICEHURST VILLAGE INSTITUTE AND THE ADJOINING RECREATION GROUND.

Providing educational, cultural and recreational opportunities by hosting clubs and classes, as well as a varied calendar of professional, community and amateur entertainment throughout the year. Primarily strengthening ties with inhabitants of Bedwas, Trethomas, Machen, Graig y Rhacca, and the wider Caerphilly Basin, enabling the facilities to be accessible and inclusive to all.

The provisions of public open space for purposes of healthful recreation

Promote the benefits of all people in the Duke Street, Nelson Street and neighbourhood by bringing the local authority, voluntary organisations and inhabitants together in a common effort to provide recreational and leisure time facilities to the inhabitants.

General charitable activities including fund-raising activities and provision of recreational, artistic and social activities for benefit of local community.

To promote social engagement through sporting activities including Football, Bowling, Karate, Yoga.Other activities: support of a Brass Band, Youth Club, WI Ladies, Bestwood Ladies Group, Autism Group, Male Voice Choir & facilities for local and surrounding families to use.There is also support for the village Christmas Tree, parties and local events.

Management of the village hall and sports field. Fund raising for the costs of operation & maintenance. Support for all the village organisations and in particular those groups using the hall & sports field.

In accordance with the Deed of Trust dated 27th May 1927, the Trust must:1. Retain the Motcombe Memorial Hall as a permanent memorial to the late Richard de Aquila, Baron Stalbridge, and keep the Hall in good repair and condition.2. Allow the Hall to be used as a Village Hall for meetings, entertainment and charitable or other public purposes.

To promote the community activites of the LMA, with members working on community football coaching projects. To advance education and personal development opportunities for all members. To support financially and otherwise, necessitous members and the necessitous dependents of members. To promote the game of football generally to children and adults as a healthy recreational sport.

The aim of the club is to help and educate young people through their leisure time activities so as to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities that they may grow to maturity as individuals and members of society and that their coditions of life may be improved.

Sporting and Recreational Facility for the Local Community

The object of the charity is the provision and maintenance of a hall for use of the inhabitants of West Wickham for recreational and leisure time activities with the object of improving the condition of life for the said inhabitants, providing that the said hall shall not be used for any purpose which is inimical to the work of the Church of England.

Physical and mental recreation and social, moral, and intellectual development through the medium of reading, recreation rooms, library, lectures,classes, recreations and entertainments or otherwise as may be found expedient for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Parish of Bleadon and immediate vicinity.
