Leisure Charities

The provision and maintenance of a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of Meysey Hampton and the neighbourhood thereof without distinction of political, religious or other opinions including use for meetings, lectures and classes and other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

We run a luncheon club every tuesday in month except first tuesday and during August. We occasionally provide extra entertainment for our members.

Maintaining the ground such as grass cutting and general tiding up. Plus improvements to the pavillion along with the purchase of a self contained changing room for junior club members (football)

Provides a meeting place for leisure activities in a rural community.

Provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for education, recreation, sport and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants of Bettisfield and its surrounding area.

In 1993, 3 parish councillors set up The Trust. It bought land immediately next to the village hall. It is held in perpetuity as a quiet recreation area for the people of Buckhorn Weston of all ages. Later the district council sold the council houses. Some proceeds were used for one-off windfall grants. We built play, picnic and ballgame areas on this land (with additions, now about 1 1/2 acres).

The provision of holiday playschemes and leisure activities for children and young people with severe learning disabilities living within the City of Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire and part of East Cambridgeshire

A) To advance the education of young members of the public in agriculture, home crafts, country life and related subjects. And B) In the interest of social welfare to provide and promote the provision of facilities for recreation and leisure.

1st Shirley Guides is for girls aged 10 - 14. They take part in exciting activities on Friday evenings and at special events or camps. Guides do adventure sports, play fun games, and take part in community and fund raising projects. Guides work together in Patrols and, with the support of adult Leaders, choose and run activities in line with the new programme as well as Interest badges.

Sports field

Provides grants to talented youngsters with a special, dedicated interest in sport, art, music etc.

The charity provides goods, equipment and benefits to disabled children not otherwise provided by the statutory authorities. Funds are mostly raised through a golf tournament and other fundraising events. All workers are volunteers.

This land is held for the charitable purpose of an open space for the recreation and enjoyment of the public.

To provide a building in the centre of the village with all services and disabled access at very reasonable rates, for sports clubs, local parties, gardening club, older people's meetings, toddler groups.

The objects of the Association are to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Osgodby and the neighbourhood and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisuretime pursuits. Present activities include a keep-fit groups, a craft group, a ladies club with speakers, a bingo club, a friendship club, Singing in Commmunity the Osgodby In Bloom group is affiliated.
