We are a community of friends who support the Buddhist religion in York mainly through our Centre and online. Our activities encourage members and others to live ethical lives in accordance with the teachings of the Buddha. We use applications of the Buddha's teaching to promote the health and well-being of all through classes and courses and other means.

To provide facilities for regular Buddhist prayers, meditation and services for both resident community and others to which all are welcome. To sponsor eminent Buddhist teachers to visit the centre to give religious instruction. To publish Buddhist texts. To provide educational resources for local establishments. To support the study of Tibetan language.

The Charity's object is to advance the Buddhist religion for the benefit of the public through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures and the public celebration of religious festivals. The aim of the Charity is to promote the practice and culture of Burmese Buddhism through the support of the Sasana Ramsi Vihara in North London and the support of festivals.

Religious Activities

Acting as a centre for Teaching of Buddha Dharma (Theravada) and Buddhist Meditation. Also the charity tries to enhance the psychological and social well being of the local community groups and take necessary steps to encourage fostering of harmony and cohesion among them.

Abhayarama Vidarshana Meditation Centre is providing variety of services for all range of ages such to a new born to the elderly people.It provides educational and cultural activities such as meditation particularly with Buddhist Religion

We are running a temporary Buddhist Monastery located in Sheffield.Monastery is open to general public for meditation practice. People from any religion who are interested in Theravada Buddhism are welcome to attend.

Wat Thai Southend is a temple in Theravada Buddhism. It is a place of worship for Theravada Monks from Thailand who practice and teach Buddhism and carry out religious ceremonies, meditation, chanting and activities for the Thai and local communities in Southend on Sea and surrounding areas. The Wat Thai Southend temple supports peaceful coexistence of Buddhist Thai & British culture in society.

We have three main types of activities:1) Meditation: we organise regular meditation sessions, instructions, retreats, and talks as well as courses in meditation and Buddhist philosophy;2) Public Engagement: we seek to share the benefits of Chan meditation with the public through various channels;3) Social Engagement: we aim to contribute wherever the need arises in the broader community.

We are a Buddhist Centre with a small number of residents. We offer weekly meditation courses, day courses, retreats in the New Kadampa Tradition of Mahayana Buddhism.

THE CHARITY IS RUN BY A COUNCIL OF TRUSTEES (DIRECTORS): ORDER MEMBERS AND MITRAS WITH A FORMAL CONNECTION WITH THE TRIRATNA BUDDHIST ORDER AND COMMUNITY. THE CENTRE IS RUN IN THE CONTEXT OF THE TRIRATNA BUDDHIST COMMUNITY.
