It is the responsibility of the Minster Parochial Church Council to co-operate with the incumbent in the administration of the Ecclesiastical Parish of Reading Minster of St Mary The Virgin & to engage in the mission & ministry of the parish. This involves pastoral care, daily services, special borough & county services & numerous carol services at Christmas.

Maintenance of school bulidings particularly the Aldridge Cooper & Jordan Endowed School Foundation and provision of benefit for under 25's particularly within the doctrine of the Church of England and pariticularly within the ancient parish of Aldridge.

Operate (generally) weekly, term-time Scout and Guiding acivity sections for young people. Organise, and where neccessary raise funds for, regular trips, camps and outdoor activities for the section members. The Quaker Tapestry is an exhibition of 77 embroidered panels made by 4,000 people from 15 countries between 1981 and 1996. The modern community textile project depicts the social and political context in which Quakerism developed from 1652 to the present day. Since 1994 it has been housed in Kendal's historic Quaker Meeting House and constitutes one of the largest community textiles in the world.
