Research Charities

The objects of the Society are to educate the public in the arts and sciences, and in particular, the arts and science of the music of The Czech Republic and Slovakia, by the presentation of concerts, lectures and other activities.

To promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of choral music in all its aspects by the presentation of public choral concerts.

The purpose which the charity was founded was for the relief of patients suffering from disease or malformation affecting the spine and adjacent areas of the body.

Originally founded for the advancement of education and relief of poverty of any person engaged in medical research, the Charity now makes grants for charitable purposes generally.

Grants for research and development activities and presentation and publication of associated scientific reports relating to the Antarctic region of the earth.

BENEFIT THE INHABITANTS OF THE TOWN OF NAILSEA AND SURROUNDING PARISHES TO EDUCATE AND ASSIST YOUNG PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 25 YEARS, TO EDUCATE PERSONS OF ALL AGES IN THE ARTS, SCIENCE, RELIGION, COMMERCE AND HEALTH CARE, AND TO RELIEVE POVERTY AMONGST PERSONS WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED, HARDSHIP AND DISTRESS

Funds as approved by the Trustees are used to support a PhD Student from the Institute of Cellular Medicine within the Newcastle University Medical School. The student is determined at the discretion of the Dean of Postgraduate Studies

The study, advancement,improvement development and maintenance of public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects including through the presentation of public concerts and recitals, paticularly choral works, both classical and modern.

The objects of the Society are to educate the public in the art and science of music by presentation of concerts and other activities.

To fund at the trustees discretion the purchase of medical, scientific or computer equipment as used in medical research , diagnosis or treatment or donation to a hospital whose activities are not carried out for profit.

The GCRI Trust promotes scientific research & education on cultivation of glasshouse crops/mushrooms/bulbs etc. provides small travel grants to researchers involved in British horticulture and publishes technical reports of new/interesting items of potential value to UK horticulture. They sponsor student scholarships for related courses and a biennial seminar on international future trends.

Promotes research in rehabilitation. The Society holds a minimum of one scientific meetings each year. Each meeting offers symposia addressing specific rehabilitation topics, sessions for presentation of scientific papers and poster sessions.

To purchase and provide books, periodicals, maps and specimens of art and science for any library provided and maintained by the library authority, for the urban district of Nantwich.

To promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music in all it's aspects by the presentation of public concerts and recitals and by such other ways as the Choir through its committee shall determine from time to time. Also supporting any other charitable purpose in any manner approved by law.

Founded in 1837, the Society's purpose is to promote knowledge of, and research, education and conservation relating to, the earth sciences, especially relating to Yorkshire and the north of England, through lecture and field meetings, publications including "Proceedings", "Circular". field guides. it also cooperates with related societies in its meetings and the annual Yorkshire Geology Month.

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Blackpool is part of a worldwide network of Branch Churches, founded on the words and works of Jesus, by Mary Baker Eddy. Services are held on Sundays, and on Wednesday evenings Testimony Meetings are held. Each Church also supports a Reading Room, open to the public for study and loan or sale of books etc.

The Association's objects are to promote, organise, carry on and encourage education of the public and study and research (including the recording and study of places and objects of natural history, scientific interest, and natural beauty) for the advancement of knowledge in all branches of natural history and for such purposes to encourage and actively support the conservation of wildlife....

FOR SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES AS THE TRUSTEES IN THEIR DISCRETION THINK FIT AND WHICH ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE TEACHING AND PRACTICE OF THE SAID RELIGION.

The object of the Society shall be to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music principally through choral singing in a mixed voice choir by the prsentation of public concerts and by other such ways as the Society through its committee [the trustees] shall determine from time to time.

To permit the property to be used as and for a garden and arboretum for the enjoyment of the public and for the purpose of research by the growth and propagation of trees and plants with a view to the furtherance of the study and science of botany and the conservation of the nature and the increase of knowledge in respect thereof and the improvement of the methods and practice of horticulture.

The charity provides funding for research and educational activities in the field of clinical biochemistry.

Education of the public in the arts of sciences of music, with particular reference to music presented by marching bands together with an element of comedy, by means of concerts and other activities to which the public has access.
