The charity operates in the village of Fairbourne Gwynedd where, through its operating company, Fairbourne Railway Steam Limited, it runs a narrow gauge preserved steam railway, which includes an historical museum. The charity also manages a large recreational area, the majority of which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. There is free access to all public areas.

Awards grants to institutions, primarily in the fields of education, social welfare, medical care and research, environmental regeneration and the performing arts.

The Society seeks to promote the advancement of the sciences of medicine, surgery, and those branches of science connected therewith. It does this through an academic programme of lectures, symposia and awarding bursaries and financial assistance to medical students and the award of prizes for significant contributions to medicine.

Advancement of science, education and research in Britain or any of the Arab and other Islamic states for needy young people and adults, in particular in literary, historical, medical and scientific subjects.

YGA focuses on advancing STEM education for all with sustainability focus, targeting under-funded primary schools for children aged 7-11. World Science Movement project is YGA's key initiative which combines STEM skills with social responsibility. YGA delivers STEM kits with SDG-based curricula, digital platforms to schools and teacher training to enhance interactive learning and track impact.

The promotion of the science of ornithology.

The Association is a membership association for members of the medical profession working with patients with cancer. It corresponds with its membership regularly to give them updates and information. It also runs a Scientific Conference annually, which features guest lectures, symposia and submitted abstracts. A more extensive programme of meetings is being developed.

THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY THE PROVISION OF ADDITIONAL TUITION SERVICES FOR GCSE AND A LEVEL STUDENTS SEEKING TO INCREASE AND THEN SUSTAIN THEIR ACADEMIC LEVELS IN MATHS, ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND THE SCIENCES.

A network for non-profit organisations associated with the group of rare diseases known as Niemann-Pick Disease (NPD). The organisation aims to facilitate progress in research and understanding, family support and information services by providing an international forum. The organisation meets by teleconference every three months and bi-annually face to face.

The CDRF, an independent medical research charity, funds a range of research programs that aim to discover the cause of common chronic diseases such as heart disease, arthritis, migraine, asthma, dementia. The CDRF runs many projects at the Department of Twin Research, St Thomas' Hospital. It is hoped the research will contribute to the development of future diagnostic tests and treatments.

The charity is a grant giver which provides funds to The Death Penalty Project Limited (DPP Ltd), enabling it to provide free legal representation to prisoners under sentence of death. The charity and DPP Ltd also conduct capacity building programmes for legal and medical professionals; and develop and commission research studies on issues surrounding the death penalty.

Relief of renal related illnesses and the funding of research and education in renal disease, transplantation and allied fields together with the provision of direct patient amenities

The charity owns Lindholme Hall Estate. It hosts Buddhist seminars, study groups, daily meditation sessions, and special practice days. The charity offers supported group, individual and work retreats. It manages the estate through Higher Level Stewardship, the SSSI portion being overseen by a group of scientific experts. We are committed to the principals of environmental buddhism.

The Institute of Demolition Engineers (IDE) exists to promote and foster the science of demolition engineering.The main objectives include the:Promotion of use of more efficient techniques in the industry;Encouragement of safer methods of working;Provision of a qualifying body for the industry.

We promote art, culture, heritage and science for the benefit of the public by supporting research, promoting best practice, delivering training and facilitating a network for providers and recipients of touring and partnership exhibitions in museums, galleries, heritage and other sites across the UK.
