Our association was formed in Norwich in 1898 to raise funds to rescue from the workhouse or a paupers grave any soldier sailoror marine, and to grant pecuniary aid to the widow of a deceased member of the association.we still adhere to those principles albeit in a modified form to this day funds permitting, the membership approve the grants to be awarded to those members in ill health .
