Lions voluteer their time to humanitarian causes helping those less fortunate than themselves. They particularly focus on their local community in the belief that those who live in a community are in the best position to know who needs help and why. Wherever there is suffering from natural, or man made, disasters you can count on Lions Club members to provide help. Our motto is "WE SERVE".

Ashgate Hospice - Aqua Boxes for disasters. Rainbow Hospice for children - Rotary Foundation. Mercy Ships - Rotary Polio Plus. Old folks Xmas Party. Kids out for disabled children. Young Chef. Breast Cancer. Heart Foundation , Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, Sight Support Derbyshire, Chesterfield Kidney Association, Sand Dams, Help for Heroes, McMillian, small donations to local people.

Provision of humanitarian aid including relief of poverty and education throughout the world. Also promotion of the Christian Gospel in UK and throughout the world by making donations to such Charitable Institutions and providing grants to individuals at such time or times and in such manner as the Trustees may in their absolute discretion think fit.

Raising monies from Christmas collections - donations made to local charities and good causes.Raising monies from other events - donations to Rotary Foundation ,specific overseas projects and world disasters.Utilisation of members organisation skills and participation in various projects of a charitable nature.

RAISE MONIES TO SUPPORT LOCAL NEEDY GROUPS SUCH AS MENTALLY ANDPHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED,SCHOOLS,AGED,CHURCH AND YOUTH IN LOCAL AREA.ALSO TO CONTRIBUTE FINANCIAL HELP TO AREAS ABROAD FOLLOWING DISASTERS,AND TO HELP SUPPORT SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES .

The Trust continues in being active in Christian agencies working in the developing world, being engaged in work as widely varied as transport, emergency relief aid, education and the support of expatriate staff involved in long term mission and development

Humanitarian Aid to Children with special needs

The Club organises events to raise money to help individuals and organisations at home and abroad in a variety of ways, eg by providing aqua boxes to produce drinkable water, shelter boxes (tents etc.) in disaster ares of the world and financing the digging of wells. It also uses funds to sponsor the youth of Thanet in various way, i.e direct sponsorship, RYLA, art competition and school proms.

Financial and practical support to local and national organisations and groups of people in need. Financial support to people affected by international disasters (e.g. Earthquakes, Tsunamis) and to other charities concerned with the welfare of people in need in countries overseas.

Providing physical and financial support to the local community, to youth activities, to other worthwhile causes locally, nationally and internationally and to disaster relief both nationally and worldwide.

The restoration,reconstruction,maintenance and upkeep of Holy Trinity Church Coventry, and the raising of funds to defray the costs thereof.

In Nepal we have been rebuilding a school that had been completely destroyed in the 2015 earthquake. There are 5 new classrooms, a toilet block and a new drinking water filtration system. We have also recently repainted two school and repaired and replaced desks and chairs. We are currently sponsoring 6 children through their education at the school.

GENERAL CHARITABLE PURPOSESEDUCATION TRAININGRELIEF OF POVERTYOVERSEAS AID/FAMINE RELIEFRELIGIOUS ACTIVITES

The Trust supports Local Community organisations and selected Organisations operating in overseas countries and disaster areas.Funds to support these activities are raised from members donations and fund-raising events in the local area.

Educational, medical & shelter projects humanitarian disaster aid and assistance donations to charitable organisations (all the above activities overseas only).Charity is currently operating in Gambia, West Africa.

Friends of Bulgaria provides humanitarian aid to Bulgaria focusing on improving the quality of life of disadvantaged children and young people through fund-raising raising initiatives and events. Financial grants are awarded by the Committee to Bulgarian NGOs and institutions on the basis of project proposals.

Cares for the destitute through training, job placement, also refugees, disabled, elderly, children, young people, homeless, people in crime,HIV/Aids and the sick,through a variety of services such as medical care, sports activities, emergency relief, music, drama, rehabilitation, education, campaign, community safety/Developments,representation, faith, housing, counselling,providing clean waters

Educational activities in Armenia and Artsakh by sponsoring schools; support welfare programmes in the devastated earthquake area and for homeless refugees; aid/renovate hospitals and educational institutions.

Fund-raising for the purpose of assisting local and international Charities , disasters, and assistance wherever need arises.
