The Leonard Trust distributes its income in amounts varying from £500 to £5000 to registered charities ranging from small local ones (Hampshire) to large nationals. Historically we have tended to concentrate on Christian based charities, mental health, and overseas aid, often in response to specific disaster relief. Our remit is wide and we also support many smaller and diverse charities.

The trustees meet twice a year to consider requests from individuals and charities living or operating in the counties of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. Their objectives will be in community projects, education, medical, health, disability, poverty relief and emergency aid.Please submit applications by email to Liz Williams in January and February or July and August.

As funds are available we respond to appeals to support individuals & organisations working both in the UK and overseas for the relief of poverty and famine, for medical research and to support the disabled and for the promotion of the Christian faith through translation and distribution of Bibles and outreach activities. We make donations to benefit people of all ages.

Relieving or preventing financial hardship or suffering to any widow, widower or dependent of a deceased person occasioned by the death as the direct result of an accident to any person at any time employed at Lofthouse Colliery or at any other colliery employed in the area of the Yorkshire Coalfield.

The charity responds to world disasters making immediate donations to appeals. It supports educational and leadership courses for young people. It makes donations to Rotary Foundation for world wide relief of poverty and disease. It makes donations to good causes local to Stafford, good causes working within the British Isles, and good causes internationally.

The charity supports a wide range of projects and good causes including education, relief for natural disasters, social welfare and poverty throughout the world.

ADRA is an international humanitarian aid agency. ADRA Trans-Europe is a regional office, supporting 19 country offices with: Resources, strategic planning, disaster response assistance, electronically accessible tools, training and education, assistance in obtaining government funds, staffing support and new personnel placement, general support as needed.

The Trustees have discretion to pay or apply the Trust Fund or the income thereof to benefit worldwide disaster funds, the relief of poverty, the advancement of religion in particular in the country of Greece.

We work primarily with the Portuguese speaking community in the UK, by offering pastoral and spiritual support and care.We support newly arrived immigrants by assisting in their settling down and offering English language lessons. Collections in Tavistock at Christmas, at Goose Fair annually, most years a Golf tournament at Tavistock Golf Club in May.The Shelterbox Trust is supported, there is an annual dinner for senior citizens,supporting dementia campaign,organising "Youth Speaks" for local schools etc, help afforded when possible to local good causes and overseas disasters.

The Trustees make distributions pro-actively and do not respond to enquiries/requests for funding.The purpose of the Trust is to provide grants to other charities/ voluntary bodies and individuals for general charitable purposes and operating in the following areas; the relief of poverty, overseas aid/ famine relief and the promotion of the Christian religion.
