Saving of lives Charities

The principal charities and/or community services currently supported are Garden House Hospice for North Hertfordshire, Mary's Meals (Uganda), Home Start , and Disaster Relief generally.

Providing donations for various good causes both locally (i.e. Senior Citizens festive parties, schools and churches) nationally (financial support for hospices, hospitals, etc.) internationally ( Eye camps, water aid, disaster funds etc.) by fund raising activities from a Christmas Float collection, easter egg draw in local pubs, annual charity golf tournament and Teddy Bear draw in local pubs.

To provide advice and financial help in times of hardship, illness and to help with the welfare of our members if need be.

To support the welfare of Police Staff within the Winchester District

The education of handicapped or underprivileged groups, the provision of funds and equipment to hospitals for the purpose of research and education in medicine, relief of poverty, funding the building of schools, relief of famine, and provision of Guide Dogs for the blind.

To provide extras for the children of Corringham School. such as, buses for trips, lifeguards for swimming, and educational workshops

General charitable purposes. Overseas aid/famine relief.

Currently raising funds for sanitation improvement, clean water and medicine for community. Also set up creche for children - now operational. Buy second hand clothes and export them for the community. Agricultural activity to alleviate famine. Buy fertilizer for the community - very important this. Will carry out many development projects in future.

This Charity operates under the normal directives of ROTARY making donations to local worthwhile causes and to disaster events abroad. All donations are sanctioned by the Rotary Club of Newport Shropshire

The Trust operates within the Essex Police area and ensures that Officers and civilian employees who are killed in the line of duty are remembered. To that end, a roll of honour, a book of remembrance and a memorial stone have been placed at Police Headquarters Chelmsford in their memory. Other memorials situated within and outside the Essex Police area are also maintained.

To advance the Christian Religion by the repair, preservation, maintenance, restoration, beautification and reconstruction of the Parish Church of St Margaret's, Rainham, Kent, its monuments, fixtures, fittings, stained glass and other chattels together with its churchyard.

The main theme has been maintained throughout the year of 3rd World humanitarian relief and related projects. The main focus has been on financially supporting charity proposals associated with Uganda , Tibet/China, Indonesia and North Malawi. These include medical, orphanage, educational, and water drilling support.

The objective of the charity is to train air-scenting dog teams to assist , for the public benfit, the Police, Mountain Rescue Teams, and any other organisation involved with Search and rescue of persons missing or overdue in situations which benefit from the use of air-scenting dogs.

Local charities, e.g. Wednesbury Poppy Appeal, Sandwell Young Carers and also overseas charities such as Medic Malawi and Nepal Earthquake Disaster Fund.

This charity operates openly in areas where help is desperately needed. The most recent appeals made were for the Pakistan Flood Disaster, Bangladesh Cyclone, Bangladesh Cancer Treatment and Kashmir Earthquake Appeal.

The objectives of the fund are the provision of relief in any part of the world for persons suffering from famine or under-nourishment and the provision for the benefit of the public generally of education in the field of food and drink.

The object of the fund is as a "permanent provident disaster fund for Brixham Fishermen".

We support local, national and international charity groups to help with their financing of activities for people in their community; and local students seeking to add to the funds that they have already received for studying or activities they wish to pursue at home or abroad. We also support the cost of supplies being sent to areas where disasters have occurred at home or abroad.

Providing financial assistance supporting Buddhist and/or humanitarian aid projects primarily in India.

To help police,fire,search and rescue,lifeboat,civil defence,military and/or other emergency services and to acquire relevant and externally recognised skills .To provide financial and other assistance to aged and infirm members in need and to their wives, widows and children.To teach young members between the ages of 14 and 18 the principles of discipline, loyalty, service and good citizenship .

The Tyne Lifeboat Society supports local good causes on Tyneside that are involved with saving lives on the River Tyne and around the immediate coastline and also youth organisations with a marine context.Organisations that benefit include Volunteer Lifeguards, Volunteer Life Brigades, Sea Cadets, Sea Scouts and Marine Emergency Units.
