GENERAL CHARITABLE PURPOSES

The Charity as well as maintaining its historical building, supports local groups and individuals in various fields, helping groups/people to futher their causes.

The sole objective of the fund is to provide funds for the benefit of persons who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress, who are or have been members of staff of the Western Gazette Company Limited and their dependants, or who are dependants of the said staff.

Grant making trust to assist charities and distressed persons within the preferred area of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and its environs, international charities, Rotary international charities and Rotary Foundation.

To make grants to full and part time musicians and staff who are employees of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and other individuals who have made a significant long term contribution to the BSO. The grants are to relieve hardship caused by sickness, accident or infirmity.Funds are raised from the net proceeds of an annual concert and general donations.

Predominantly donations to other Masonic Charities and donations to charities within Coventry. Occasional donations to charities in Warwickshire, occasionally donations to national charities of particular interest to Members.

THE CHARITY HELPS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES BOTH MASONIC AND NON MASONS BECAUSE OF ILLNESS OR DISTRESS, FALL UPON HARDTIMES.THE CHARITY ALL MAKES DONATIONS TO OTHER WORTHY CAUSES AND LOCAL AND NATIONAL CHARITIES.

TO PROVIDE CHARITABLE ASSISTANCE AND RELIEF TO PERSONS WHO ARE OR HAVE BEEN IN THE EMPLOYMENT OF THE COMPANY

Fraternal and Benevolent activities to aid Charitable causes.

The benefit of such distressed Brother Masons their Widows and Children or to or for the benefit of such Masonic Charities or other Charitable Institutions Societies and objects as the Lodge shall in duly constituted meeting from time to time direct.

Making grants, payments, gratuities pensions or allowances to or for the benefit of persons who shall be or shall have been in the employment of the Maybourne Group, or wives, widows, husbands, widowers, children, parents or other dependants of such persons. No grant shall be made or paid to or for the benefit of any person unless they are in need of the financial assistance so afforded.

The Charity provides grants to retired Nonconformist Ministers or widows of Non Conformist ministers who have served at a Nonconformist church in Suffolk.

Raffles and collections in the Lodge

To help and assist poor and distressed members of Vassar-Smith Lodge, or their family, widows and children, and to similarly assist other like charities/institutions as the Executive Committee for Gloucestershire shall from time to time direct.

The clear income of the charity shall be applied for the relief of such distressed past and present members of the City of London Special Constabulary as it thinks fit.

Raise funds during masonic social functions and distribute to local and national good causes and masonic charities in accordance with our classification.
