Organise range of lectures, information plaques, heritage walks and social activities. Keep in close touch with the Town, Mid Devon District and Devon County Councils. Registered with Civic Trust and Outer SW Federation of Civic Societies and member of Devon Conservation Forum.

LOCAL CHARITY PROVIDING SUPPORT THROUGH REGULAR SOCIAL EVENTS, FUNDRAISING FOR TRIPS AND DAYS OUT FOR YOUNG ADULTS AND CHILDREN WITH PHYSICAL AND LEARNING DISABILITIES AND THEIR SIBLINGS/FAMILIES

The Educational Foundation uses its income to help young people under the age of 25 who live within the parish of St Anthony's Church, Cartmel Fell. It provides assistance in purchasing text books, tools and other equipment necessary for their education. It also supports communal events for children to help foster friendship and community relations in a widespread rural area.

Leicestershire Deaf Children's Society (LDCS) is affiliated to the National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS). We provide support on all aspects of deafness including communication, education, technology, social and behavioural and cultural issues. Membership is free. We provide social activities consisting of day and weekend trips, Christmas celebrations and youth activities.

The WI offers opportunities for all women to enjoy friendship, to learn, to widen their horizons. It aims to improve and develop the quality of life, particularly in rural areas, for women and their families. Romsey Gateway club caters for adults with learning disabilities and has done for over thirty years. We seek to provide opportunities for friendship, recreation and entertainment. The development of existing skills outings and intigrating within the community. This allows for a few hours respite and rest to those who care for our members when they are at home.
