The Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy was founded for the purpose of the education of the poor and for the help of those in any kind of need. The convent became St Margaret's Convent. The Sisters engage in a variety of ministries, working in schools, aprishes, hospitals, day centres and outreach.

Community First Oxfordshire's aim is to make a real contribution to improving the quality of life for all who live or work in Oxfordshire, particularly those who are disadvantaged. In pursuit of this aim we have two primary objectives: Firstly, to help communities in Oxfordshire to identify and tackle local needs and problems.
