The main objects of the charity are for the advancement of education and relief of poverty.

To apply the trust fund and income therefrom for the benefit of such charitable purposes, charitable institutions or charitable foundations and in such manner and proportions as the trustees may determine. In particular, may relieve poverty, further the work of the Christian Church and advance education and may make grants for the welfare of the clergy and their dependants.

Rescue of stray animals within Sandbach and surrounding rural areas, provide refuge for unwanted domestic animals, finance necessary boarding and veterinary care, assist in re-homing of unwanted domestic animals.

To financially support any organisation, institution or fund which is established for charitable purposes. ICT funds, develops and supports it's Partners who are working with severely disadvantaged and 'at risk' children, their families and their communities in low and middle income countries, and helps to develop an effective network between Partners whose similarities and differences combine to form a collective experience in the field of international child development.

TO UPHOLD THE STATUS, DIGNITY AND STANDING OF KNIGHTS BACHELOR AND TO SUPPORT OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES, INCLUDING THE RELIEF OF POVERTY, THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION AND RELIGION, THE MAINTENANCE, SUPPORT AND IMPROVEMENT OF HOSPITALS AND OF THOSE AFFLICTED BY ILLNESS OR DISEASE; THE MAINTENANCE OF OUR CHAPEL, AND ANY OTHER OBJECTIVE WHICH IS EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE

The SCT addresses social inequality and poverty. We create grants with agencies and projects that provide shelter and material assistance, improve social mobility, and fight prejudice. The SCT focus is on rights and welfare of: women, children / young adults, the mentally ill, ethnic communities and the homeless. It is also an aim to empower through encouraging access to education and the arts.

Provide education and social activities for those people who are retired or in part-time employment

RELIEVING NEED FOR MINISTERS (ACTIVE OR RETIRED) OF CONGREGATIONAL AND BAPTIST CHURCHES AND OF THE UNITED REFORMED CHURCH IN ENGLAND AND WALES AND FOR WIDOWS OF SUCH MINISTERS RESIDENT IN ENGLAND. THE TRUSTEES APPLY THE INCOME OF THE TRUST BY MAKING GRANTS OF MONEY OR PROVIDING ITEMS, SERVICES OR FACILITIES CALCULATED TO REDUCE THE NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS OF BENEFICIARIES

Money is raised through the charity shops to make grants, as decided by the trustees, to local groups serving the Bacup community. Clothing, bedding and toys, as and when available in the shops are given to those who for any reason find themselves in desperate need, usually by referral. As a group of churches we work together to promote the Christian faith through ecumenical events
