The main purposes of the W.I Organisation are to enable women who are interested in issues associated with rural life, arts and crafts, improve conditions, advance education in citizenship in public questions - national and international, in music, drama and other cultural subjects and in agriculture, handicrafts, home economics, health & social welfare, and to put in practice those ideals.

The Principal activity of the Charity during the Year were those of the promotion of the welfare of the African and Caribbean Community and their descendants in the City and the County of Gloucestershire by all practical means and in particular by combating racism in all its forms and the promotion of equal opportunities

The aim are to enable women who are interested in issues associated with rural life, including arts, crafts and sciences to improve and develope conditions of rural life, to advance thier education in citizenship, in public questions both national and internatial, in music, drama and other culturual subjects. It seeks to give to women the oppertunity of working together through the W.I

Dorchester Civic Society exists to stimulate people's interest in the town and its setting; promote high standards of architecture, urban design and planning; safeguard buildings and areas of historic interest; and promote civic pride. The Society is a member of Civic Voice.

To help police,fire,search and rescue,lifeboat,civil defence,military and/or other emergency services and to acquire relevant and externally recognised skills .To provide financial and other assistance to aged and infirm members in need and to their wives, widows and children.To teach young members between the ages of 14 and 18 the principles of discipline, loyalty, service and good citizenship .

Holds meetings. Co-operates with local authorities , planning committees, and all other statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and charities. Holds fund raising events. Helps to promote civic pride in the local area and to generate public interest in and care for its beauty, history and character.

Main purpose of WI are to enable women to advance their education in citizenship, in public questions, national & international. In music, drama & all issues connected with rural life. It seeks to give women the opportunity of working together through the WI organisation, and of putting into practice those ideals for which it stands.

We give girls and young women a voice.We provide a unique girl-only space.We promise equality and diversity.We provide fun and friendship, in a safe environment.

Bitterne WI enables women to extend their interest in crafts. history,citizenship,music and drama. It provides a meeting place for women to socialise and to work to improve their community.As part of the wider organisation of WIs it takes part in aiming to influence national issues especially those affecting women and family life.

The WI offers opportunities for all women to enjoy friendship, to learn, to widen their horizons. It aims to improve and develop the quality of life, particularly in rural areas, for women and their families. To improve and develop conditions of rural life and to advance the education of country women in citizenship, in public questions both national and inter-national, in music, drama and other cultural subjects, also to secure instruction and training in all branches of agriculture, handicrafts, home economics, health and social welfare.

Aims:to advance knowledge and understanding of the teachings and practices of the different faith communities in Leeds, and to nurture respect and friendly relations by facilitating interfaith dialogue and organising educational and cultural events;to promote justice, peace and social harmony by advocacy, by focused public events and projects, working with other groups

Swansea Lions Club aims to promote and support the following good causes:-* the advancement of citizenship and community development* the relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disability * the advancement of health or the saving of lives* the advancement of education at home.

UNDERTAKE ACTIVITIES TO ENABLE WOMEN INTERESTED IN ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH RURAL LIFE, TO IMPROVE THEIR EDUCATION IN CITIZENSHIP, PUBLIC QUESTIONS, MUSIC, CULTURE, HANDICRAFTS, HOME ECONOMICS, HEALTH AND SOCIAL WELFARE AND TO IMPROVE RURAL LIFE.

One Kirklees gives out grants to the inhabitants of North Kirklees in West Yorkshire where they show a positive contribution to the promotion of equality and diversity. An example of this is where someone has written plays which have been acted out in schools which promote racial harmony and deal with bullying issues.

The main purpose of the womens institute organisation is to enable women who are interested in rural issues to improve and develop conditions of rural life; to advance their education in citizenship, cultural subjects, sports and all branches of agriculture, handicrafts, home economics, health & social welfare and uphold WI ideals.

To promote good race relations between persons of different racial groups. To work towards the elimination of discrimination. To promote equality of opportunity in race, religion, gender, age, disability & sexual orientation.

To promote Gender Equality and Rights of Women of all faiths. To enhance the welfare of women and children in UK and overseas. Support, advise and rehabilitate victims of domestic violence and forced marriages. To support, advise and rehabilitate refugee women and displaced families. To research into the impact of armed conflict on Women and Children.

Promoting civic pride.

The charity provides a token of recognition in the form of a book to pupils of Great Milton Church of England Primary School who are seen to be making an effort to undertake activities or who have undertaken activities with a view to personal improvement in any field or with a view to good citizenship.
