The Company is established: to promote, maintain, improve and advance education and the encouragement of the arts in particular plays by British writers of Caribbean and African descent in the art of drama. To run an annual competition open to Black British playwrights of Caribbean and African descent living in the UK and to award a prize for Best New Play of theYear to the winning playwright.
