Activities & Mission

The Hermes Viraat Trust was established to seek to preserve the former Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Hermes, made famous as the Falklands War Taskforce Command Ship, as a naval museum, one dedicated to also commemorating its great service in the Indian Navy as INS Viraat. Unfortunately, the Indian Government refused to sell the ship on despite considerable efforts to save her from scrap.
