FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AND THE PROMOTION OF THE EFFICIENCY OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE CROWN BOTH THOSE SERVING IN ACTIVE DUTY AND THOSE WHO HAVE RETIRED. THE WILL BE ACHIEVED, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY ENCOURAGING ESPRIT DE CORPS, THE LOYALTY OF BENEFICIARIES TO THE UNIT TO WHICH HE OR SHE BELONGS AND RECOGNITION OF THE HONOUR OF THE UNIT, PROVIDING SUPPORT TO UNITS AND OTHERS.
