Arts Charities That specialise in Choirs

The choir has an established reputation for its performances of challenging repertoire spanning five centuries and regards the performance of more unusual repertoire, both renaissance and contemporary, as an important part of its programming.

The Society consists of an Orchestra and Chorus. Membership is open to all comers without audition. Members learn and rehearse music with the objective of providing four public concerts per year. The Orchestra invites all comers to an open rehearsal free of charge. Occasionally, the Chorus runs an open singing course. The Society supports local charities by performing carols at Christmas time.

To promote, improve, develop and maintain public education of the art and science of choral music of all periods with particular emphasis on early music, suitable for a choir of limited size (max 36 members) by the presentation of public concerts and recitals.

Sunday School, Worship Service, Drama, Singing Group, Youth Activities, Bible classes, Funerals, Christening, Community Gospel Concert, Music School, Home visiting for the sick and lonely and work shop activities. { Easter Community Concert over 400 people in attendance, October Combination Singspiration with the Church of England. November Memorial service, Nativity Play by the Youths and BHMD.

Hire of hall for private functions, childrens parties, lectures, parish council meetings,concerts, live music nights, exercise classes, singing group, dance group, venue for local/national elections, hire of equipment ie tables chairs, crockery to other villages or privately, village celebrations.

Music Making in the Somerset area. The society gives approximately three public performances of a wide range of choral works during the year, employing soloists and instrumentalists to augment our forces.

OUR GROUP PROVIDE A MEETING PLACE FOR THE COMMUNITY WHERE HEALTHY LIVING ACTIVITIES TAKE PLACE: KEEP FIT CLASSES, COMMUNITY CHOIR, SLIMMING WORLD CLUB AND MOTHER AND TODDLER GROUP. ROOM/ KITCHEN HIRE IS AVAILABLE; HALL ACCOMMODATES WHEELCHAIR USERS AND PUSHCHAIRS. WE PROVIDE COMMUNITY EVENTS INCLUDING AFTERNOON TEAS, CONCERTS, DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING, FAIRS, TABLE TOP SALES AND POLLING STATION.

Opera South East is a company based in Hastings, specialising in the performance of fully staged and costumed opera productions with orchestra. The company is administered by local enthusiasts and employs professional staff and singers to complement and direct its membership. In addition the company offers a year round programme of opera concerts in various venues in Kent and East Sussex.

The GMPMVC gives concerts throughout the UK but mainly within the GMP area. By invitation, it has also sung in the EU.The Choir has been privileged to assist in raising many thousands of pounds for organisations and charities such as Scope, The Rainbow Trust, The Deep Sea Fishermen's Mission, Rochdale Springhill & Bury Hospices, Cancer Research UK as well as local churches and schools.

The objects of the Society shall be to educate the public in the Arts and Sciences, and, in particular, the art and science of music, by the presentation of concerts and other activities.

Over 60's clubWe run a coffee morning 6 times a week at providence place, to meet and chat. We also do activities, such as bingo and days out, events with, music, singing and food. We donate to other local clubs.

The objective is to promote public appreciation of the arts and in particular to encourage public appreciation of and to educate people in the art of choral singing by the participation in and the presentation of concerts in support of local charities and similar activities.

To encourage & instruct in the art of choral singing. To rehearse to competition standard (eg Eisteddfodau). To perform in support of other charities & worthy causes individual & corporate. To invite new members in order to further the tradition.

The Mid-Norfolk Singers is a mixed voice choir rehearsing weekly during term time. Members age from 18 to 80. We generally perform three concerts a year, in keeping with our constitution and give other performances from time to time as requested to support community events.

The Village Hall is maintained for use by local groups, clubs and individual hirers, which currently include,three darts groups, three art groups, pilates, dance, two Church groups, yoga, over 60s keep fit, parish council meetings and casual lettings for various purposes. Fund raising events are also held eg Bingo, Quiz Nights, and entertainment by local singer.

THE CHARITY ENCOURAGES THE PARTICIPATION AND FURTHERS THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE ARTS OF MUSIC, SPEECH AND DRAMA. THE CHARITY HOLDS A FESTIVAL COMPETITION EACH YEAR IN CLASSES COVERING CHORAL, INSTRUMENTAL, PIANO, SPEECH AND VOCAL SKILLS AND PROMOTES THE ANNUAL WOKING YOUNG MUSICIAN COMPETITION CONCERT.

Choral Society

The choir exists to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in the appreciation of the art and science of music through the public presentation of concerts and recitals.

Service users include- young farmers, the lerdel, merched y wawr, church and chapel fund raising events, remembrance service, funeral teas, healthy living exercise, choir practises etc.

SINGING - MAKING MUSIC

Learning and public performance of choral works to the benefit of any worthy cause and for the enjoyment of members.

As a mixed adult choir of some 50 members we sing from a wide-ranging repertoire. We perform 3 or 4 public concerts a year, encouraging young soloists and student orchestras to perform with us. We keep our ticket prices as low as possible, with free seats for children. We aim to bring the joy of music, whether performing or listening, to as wide a cross-section of the public as possible.
