The aim of the charity is to promote the study of entomology amongst amateurs, including in particular young people, by publishing books and periodicals and organising educational and other events. This includes involvement with invertebrate conservation matters.

To pay the income of the trust to the Christian Science Board of Directors of the Mother Church the First Church of Christ Scientist in Boston Massachusetts to be used in Great Britain for the promotion and extension of the religion of Christian Science as taught by Mary Baker Eddy in the Christian Science text book Science and Health with key to the Scriptures.

The North Devon Athenaeum provides resources and advice to the general public on local and family history within the North Devon and West Country area. The North Devon Athenaeum holds and maintains extensive collections of local and general interest books, as well as historical documents about local and family history.

We provide the facilities for the whole community. The village hall is available to anybody for hire. Individuals can book the hall for personal use ie weddings, parties etc. Weekly activities include senior citizens meetings, short mat bowls and badminton clubs. The local primary school use the hall for larger functions than the school can cater for, including their Christmas Play.

We provide grant to schools to buy school equipment, books, chairs, tables, computers, science lab equipment etc, school meals for children. We provide medical help to poor, sick people and those who cannot afford treatment. We also help widows and their children. We concentrate more on education which has reflected at their results (100% pass rate).

The club offers youth group activities to seniors (12-18) and juniors (8-11 Years), these activities are educational and recreational. A group of volunteers and paid staff run these groups.WA12Radio station now belongs to Newton Boys and Girls Club. A community radio used by the local community for the community. We broadcast online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

The Charity provides help to the sick or disabled who are in financial need. Grants may be made to purchase among other items, equipment, special clothing, help with energy bills and respite care. Support is also given to the Community Nurses by providing help with training courses, books and special equipment not normally funded by the NHS.

We run training programmes in oral history techniques, run a website, publish a journal, run a regional network, offer advice, run an annual conference, act as a focal point for oral history and deal with ethical issues, archiving and technical developments for dissemination.

Our annual showcase event British International Film Festival (BIAFF) will be held in May 2023 and takes place in Birmingham. Film & Video Maker magazine is proudly published bi-monthly. The Charity runs a bookshop in Cwmbran town centre. As part of the operation, many of the customers also seek to share burdens and are prayed for: effective counselling.
