The normal activities of a Women's Institute.

The WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.

The charity enables members to fulfil social and educational needs by granting bursaries.

Educational and informative lectures, social occasions to enhance rural living, visits to theatre, gardens and London with a WI college guide. Visiting sick members. Limited fund raising (coffee mornings) to ensure that we have the funds to run the activities.

Providing women in Chipping Sodbury, Yate and surrounding areas with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their local community.

The Women's Institute is a non sectarian, non party political organisation for women and girls. The main objectives are educational and we take part in campaigns on social issues.

Socialising, helping in the community, outings, workshops lectures etc.

We are a community based organisation for women and we offer the opportunity for women to make friends, take part in workshops and events and to help make a difference in our community. We hold a monthly meeting at the Masonic Hall in Hawarden as well workshops and outdoor activities. We have at present 47 members.

We would like to win as many souls as possible to the Kingdom of God so they may be saved by streetevangelisation, weekly Bible studies, prayer meetings, weekly church service, and other programs held forthe edification of the people who come.

WI advances the education of women in local,national issues. In music ,drama, and culture, crafts, home economics, science, health , social welfare. Educating women in preservation and protection of the environment advancement of health for the public benefit and the advancement of citizenship by the promotion of civic responsibility and volunteering.

Promoting educational and cultural activities and courses for the members of Eglingham W.I.

Community meetings for groups ie Senior Citizens, Young Farmers Club WI etc

Recreation, leisure pursuits, Childrens play area. Our current groups are:Woman's Institute, Historical Society, Carpet Bowls club, Flower Show, Parish CouncilMeetings.

The village hall is used by the W.I. Church,Pensioners Thursday Group, Blues Club and the Community Council. The community have also used the hall for childrens parties.

Supporting local charities and sometimes national appeals. (ie. aquabox).

To provide activities and education to women of all ages

Charity working for the benefit of women in the local community, sharing ideas and arts and crafts, learning through speakers on various subjects, enjoying friendships and support for like minded women.

Arranging money making events to cover the running costs of the village hall. Holding classes and being a centre for village participators ie W.I., Gardening Club etc.
