PROVIDES A BALENCED PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES THOUGH THE SCOUTS FOR CHILDREN IN MIDDLETON

Education grants to students from primary through to Further education. Grants to youth groups such as Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, Duke of Edinburgh Scheme etc.

The objectives of the Group are as a unit of the Scout Association. The main activities in relation to these objectives is the provision of the weekly section meetings, as follows:Beaver Scouts Thursdays 5 - 6.Cub Scouts Thursdays 6.30 - 8, Scouts Wednesdays 6.30 to 8

The purpose of Scouting is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. Operating in Bognor Regis, activities include camping, outings, hikes, sailing, badge work, for children aged 6-17.

Girlguiding

Highlight of the Group's year was celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Start of Sprotbrough Scouting and associated special events. In addition were the annual Sprotbrough Run and Gala; Cub Camp; Burns Night Ceilidh; visit to Sheffield Laserquest/Doncaster Paintball; a Scout Weekend at Crookestone Barn, Derbyshire. Centenary events included 2 Church Services; memorabilia exhibition; time capsule.

To provide young people with a safe but adventurous environment in which to have fun and develop personal (and interpersonal) skills in accordance with the rules, guidelines and administrative structure of the Scout Association.

Maintain and improve the Headquarters building for the use of the Scout and Guide groups.

Providing fun and adventure for children in our local community, Eden Hill area of Peterlee Co. Durham, from the age of 6 to 14. This includes camping, sleepovers, daytrips out, games and badge work.

Provision of the Scout Association's Progressive training programme for young people aged between 6 and 15Provision of communal facilities known as the Alec Jones Scout and Community Centre for the local area

Pursuing the objectives of Girlguiding UK

Training in various activities for age groups 6yrs-25yrs.Including outdoor pursuits ,service to the community. All activities whether indoor or out door are designed to stimulate the Physical,Mental and Spiritual faculties. The training programme is in accordance with that laid down by the Scout Association in its Policy Organisation and Rules,(P.O.R.)

Girlguiding UK enables girls and young women to develop their potential and to make a difference to the world. Earley District run units locally to achieve this accomodating girls from the age of 5 to 65. A variety of activities are run including crafts, adventurous activities, singing, outdoor camping and opportunities to travel and stay away. Topics include the world, the environment.

Maintenance of Guide hut and support Brownies, Guides, Rangers and Trefoil guild activities.

Rhiwbina Girlguiding Centre. Previously been used for Girlguiding activities but is temporarily closed whilst consideration is given to rebuilding the hall as it is currently not safe to use.

Scouting Activities
