The objectives of the charity are to help people suffering from rheumatic diseases and to provide funds for research into the prevention, cure and relief of such diseases. This is achieved by funding research and development at the Haywood Hospital and by supporting the education of patients and health professionals with expertise in the rheumatic diseases.

We organise an annual festival and feast in the village of Great Shelford, Cambridgeshire, to raise money for charitable purposes for the benefit of the community of Great Shelford and surrounding parishes, primarily but not exclusively by the provision of grants. The National Manuscripts Conservation Trust was set up in 1990 to provide financial assistance to owners and custodians in the UK in preserving the nation's written heritage. The Daisie Rich Trust makes grants to former employees, or their dependents, of Upward and Rich Limited, who are necessitous and deserving, at the discretion of the Trustees.
