Making grants for the purpose of relieving poverty and giving assistance to senior citizens.

The charity uses its income from investments to make grants to other local charities, or national charities, working in the historical parish of Greenford Magna, to assist them in their work with elderly people, and vulnerable adults and families. This can take the form of support for example of food banks and night shelters run by local churches.

We organise a series of winter lectures and summer visits associated with local history for the education of the public. We also seek to preserve historic objects and buildings. Likewise, we produce a six-monthly newsletter with articles written by members with topics of local historical interest.

To provide assistance by way of grants to children attending higher education in the Winchester area whose home and/or personal circumstances are such that financial support for the purchase of books and other learning material is very beneficial.

We apply the Trust's income to support those who seek to impart the Christian faith while actively engaged in the world, in particular, members of the Dominican Secular Institute in England, in all ways, including enabling such people to meet for the study of the Bible and instruction in the dissemination of the Christian faith and to make grants to such charitable bodies as Trustees decide.

The Trustees utilise the income from the trust fund and occasionally the capital to make grants and donations to various charitable causes known to the Trustees or in respect of which the Trustees may receive specific applications.

The trustees identify projects and organisations they wish to support and also the Trust may make grants to people or organisations who apply speculatively.

St Mary Bourne United Charities gives financial assistance to residents of the parish of St Mary Bourne who find themselves in financial need due to illness, infirmity or sudden unexpected events. If no individuals make a claim on the charity's funds during the year, the Trustees make grants to organisations which help local parishioners who fall into the above categories.

We provide Information Advice & Guidance on a range of issues, specialising in Welfare and Benefit Advice, Employment Support,Debt Counselling and Vocational Training Courses. We also provide a Legal Advice Session with a qualified solicitor.

The Charity distributes funds from Charity of Henry Forster (United Charities) and, since 1996, the Rutland Society of Industry as small grants to students/apprentices living in the County of Rutland. These grants are awarded annually towards the purchase of books and equipment.The Charity distributes funds from the Charities of John Green and Mary Davie to those in need in Oakham.
