We will consider applications from individuals or organisations enabling them to achieve an educational experience. We will seek to develop educational and socially beneficial activities on a Barnsley wide basis, working in conjunction with other agencies and groups. It is expected that these activities will require greater levels of financial investment than in previous years.

Barnsley Central Division is part of Girl Guiding UK. A female organisation run by women for girls and women from the age of 5 to 65. We aim to provide diverse activities for girls of all ages to encourage social skills, confidence and overall, fun in a safe and caring environment.

We support deaf and hearing impaired children living in the boroughs of Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham and Chesterfield and the surrounding areas of South Yorkshire.We hold regular events for children of all ages ranging from babies to age 16.These events give the children the opportunity to meet their peers.Parents and siblings can also share their experiences to offer help and advice to others.

Greenacre School Association supports pupils within the school aged 2-19 with special needs by providing grants for additional facilities, equipment and social activities over and above that provided by the school itself. The charity seeks to ensure that no pupils are excluded from any activities due to their personal circumstances or financial status.

Legacy from the will of Alice Adams to provide financial assistance to four surviving descendants and the surplus funds to be equally distributed to the neighbouring parishes of Great Houghton and Darfield, Barnsley.
