The Trust provides 8 terraced Cottage Homes set in 1.2 acres of private grounds, available to people over 60 years of age who have lived in the borough of Darwen for at least the last five years preceding application, who can demonstrate a 'housing need' either for financial reasons, or for 'quality of life' which is not being addressed elsewhere. These homes are for Independent Living only.

The Objects of the charity are:(i) to advance the Jewish religion for the benefit of the public in accordance with the doctrines of the Jewish religion(ii) to advance education for the benefit of the public(iii) for any such purposes deemed charitable by the law of England and Wales as the Trustees of the Congregation shall from time to time determine.

Darwen Heritage Centre seeks to help the public understand the Heritage of the town through exhibitions, talks and displays. Disabled access is available for all of our exhibition space. Schools and Community Groups are invited to make use of our facilities and can visit the Centre at pre-arranged times.

The charities activities include the prevention and relief of poverty in India by providing or assisting in the provision of grants, healthcare or welfare projects to individuals in need. Also providing to other charities and organisation working to prevent and relieve poverty.

Inbetweenears raises money to help young adults from 18 to 40 who have brain tumours. The charity raises awareness of this dreadful disease and contribute some of the money raised to Brain Tumour Research.

The aims of the charity are:To advance the Education of the public, (particularly those under the age of 25,) on the dangers of violence and the serious consequences of these actions. To promote learning about individual responsibilities highlighting the consequences of anti-social and violent behaviour for victims and people who carry out violent acts.

Switch provides educational and recreational activities for children and young people in a range of community settings in the Blackburn with Darwen area. Our activities are largely delivered by trained community based volunteers and generally take place in the evenings, weekends and during school holidays.

The charity operates an orphanage in Peshawar, Pakistan, providing living accommodation, educational facilities, care and a safe environment for young orphans. It also works to relieve poverty anywhere in the world by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training and healthcare projects.

We have suppported individuals in the local community who are in urgent need of assistance. Primarily our focus has been upon recycling unwanted donations of furniture which is then re-upholstered and cleaned by a team of volunteers to re-distribute to those in need.

Our group consists of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts & Explorers between the ages of 6-18 years old. The children come to weekly meetings where we do badge work, play games and have camping weekends. We do charity work eg fundraising for various charties and support our church in fundraising St Francis Feniscliffe who are our sponsors

Disciplined, uniformed group of young people who follow broadly a nautical theme based on customs & traditions of the Royal Navy. Activities include: participation in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme; training in sailing; canoeing; target shooting; and participation in a number of sports. The young people also are given the opportunity to take part in activity based camps and visit Royal Naval ships.

The church provides facilities for people to explore and /or pursue the Christian faith through worship services, mid-week Lifegroups and various courses. It seeks to work in the community helping people to overcome relational and other social issues through various activities.

Local branch of National Association of Round Tables of Great Britain and Ireland, supporting individuals, volunutary and charitable groups in and around the Blackburn area of Lancashire.

To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Lancashire whether members of the association or otherwise and in particular those of Hindu origin regardless of sex, political, religious or other opinions by Advancing education which promotes good citizenship and good relations between people within a multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-faith society.

The objects of the charity is to benefit sick needy persons resident within Lancs, Gr. Manchr, S. Cumbria, Liverpl and Sefton with up to 20% of the net yearly income being available for the benefit of retired district nursing staff who have worked in the same area. There is no restriction on the overall amount to benefit the sick needy. Application of amounts is at the discretion of the trustees.
