We aim to provide all children at Colden School, and in the wider community where possible, with enhanced educational and recreational resources. These include the provision of a substantial play & decked area, as well as activities to make school life more fun for all. The charity can also subsidise educational outings and outdoor activities of an educational nature.

We fundraise for our school. We have 3 big annual events, A Christmas fayre, A Summer Fayre and a Sponsored Event. We also run various other fundraising events in a year e.g. Pamper Nights, Race Nights and Discos. We supply refreshments for various school events as well as providing water bottles every year to the pupils and Leavers Gifts to Y6.

GRANTS TO STUDENTS

Providing the sound and spectacle of the Pipes and Drums at community and charity events in and around Leeds.Providing free tuition for both pipes and drums.

Educating the public in the history and heritage of the inland waterways of Yorkshire by:- a) preserving vessels and artifacts which illustrate and explain the history and heritage of the waterways; b) providing the public with access to the waterways for the purpose of education; and c) undertaking research into the waterways and publishing the results for the public benefit.

Provide specialist equipment for those under the umbrella of Neurodiverse (with or without diagnosis) to enable them to access their education. This must have been recommended by an AHP/ specialist teacher and evidence provided. Age from 3-19 we cover both home schooled and in an educational establishment in West Yorkshire.

The main aim of the Emma Maltby Memorial Fund is to raise funds to employ Learning Mentors at the Teenage Cancer Trust Unit in St James's Hospital in Leeds. The Learning Mentors will assist patients to ensure that they can continue their education whilst undergoing treatment for cancer.

The society provides practical and moral support for registered and partially sighted persons living in Todmorden. This includes the making of financial grants, visits by committee members, a monthly drop in, lunch (at present twice a year) at local hostelries and evening social gatherings (at present twice a year)

The Charity has received a large legacy payment and is managing the invested funds to support the needs of young people under the age of 16 in the West Yorkshire area that are suffering from cancer.

For the benefit of the inhabitants of Calderdale to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation in the interests of social welfare with the object of improving their conditions of life for the inhabitants of the area of Shelf in particular the preservation, promotion, support, assistance and improvement of Shelf Hall Park.

Conservation of buildings and surroundings in the Halifax area.

We take people with disabilities and the underpriviliged on cycle rides at weekends. We provide them with a meal at the club after the end of the cycle rides.We provide bicycles including any specialised equipment needed, helmets and anything else required. There are no membership, other fees or charges.

Furtherance of the aims and policies of Girlguiding UK within West Yorkshire.

Salterhebble Junior and Infant School PTFA Charity raise money throughout the year to benefit every child in the school. This charity operates from the school premises. Fundraising activities include bake sales, raffles, school discos, film nights and summer fairs. The money raised funds equipment and experiences that are not available from school budget funds.

Furthering the religious and other charitable work of the congregation of Unitarians meeting for religious worship in Halifax

For the Religious, Educational and other charitable work of the Religious Society of Friends within the area of the Central Yorkshire Area Meeting. (ex. Monthly Meeting Area).

Running a competitive music festival and musical concerts in the Rothwell(Leeds) area

The choir welcomes new singers to join them performing concerts for the general public. We sing at the request of other organisations to help with their money raising events. We also fundraise for our benefit and for nominated charities.

Relief of poverty and grants to individuals

To promote the development of psychoanalytic psychotherapy in Yorkshire by: Offering bursaries to trainees. Promoting educational & public events & colloborating with other organisations eg Opera North, Northern School of Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy.

Education and training of young people age 12 to 18 using the customs of the Royal Navy in many subjects and the aim is to produce good and upright citizens for the future.
