The charity raises awareness of the need to enhance the life chances and educational success of Calderdale's Looked-After Children and young people. It will raise funds to deliver specific projects to assist Looked-After Children and young people to fulfil their potential, over and above the care & support they already receive from statutory service providers.

WRAT supports former or existing members of 269 (West Riding) Battery RA who fall on hard times. It makes grants to 269 Battery in aid of Battery social activities. It publishes, from time to time, regimental histories of former artillery units in the West Riding of Yorkshire and donates copies of these to local libraries.

We aim to provide all children at Colden School, and in the wider community where possible, with enhanced educational and recreational resources. These include the provision of a substantial play & decked area, as well as activities to make school life more fun for all. The charity can also subsidise educational outings and outdoor activities of an educational nature.

To advance the education of the pupils in the school in particular by: developing effective relationships between the staff, parents,children and others associated with the school; engaging in activities or provide facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils

Stimulate public interest in the area (provided visitor car park, heritage features, information boards). Encourage high standards of planning & architecture. Conserve, develop and protect features of historic, or natural interest (won Britain in Bloom Best Village, developed walks). Improve amenities ( newsletter to all houses), village activities, Open Gardens Day, Luddenden Heritage Day).

TO PROMOTE RESEARCH AND CONTINUE TO DEVELOP THE UNDERSTANDING AND PRACTICEOF OBSTETRIC ANAESTHESIA.

We have a wide repertoire of differing styles of music: popular, modern, madrigal, traditional, folk, African, Estonian, Welsh and Spanish. We sing regularly at weddings and fund raising events as well as celebratory concerts and musical evenings. Each Christmas we enjoy a full programme of carol singing, plus a varied collection of carols with other entertainers at our Christmas concert.

To encourage interest in road safety, to improve driving/riding standards and to help drivers/riders pass the organization's advanced driving/riding test.

Over the past many years, we have been providing local communities, help assistant and supports in Community Translation, Housing & Benefits Advice, especially supporting unemployed and disabled people providing in South Asian Music activities lyrics/ musical composition's and training/workshops. We now also have qualified Volunteer staff in{CBT} Cognitive Behaviour Therapy helping people most.

The main aim of the Emma Maltby Memorial Fund is to raise funds to employ Learning Mentors at the Teenage Cancer Trust Unit in St James's Hospital in Leeds. The Learning Mentors will assist patients to ensure that they can continue their education whilst undergoing treatment for cancer.

Performance of brass music in the West Yorkshire area

The L.I.A.M. Charity raise funds through a variety of enterprises and give grants to young people studying at a higher level. i.e. University or specialist college within the county of Yorkshire.Certain criteria need to be fulfilled to access the grants of up to £1,000.

Make donations to other charitable institutions

Midgley School PTFA fundraise to enable them to fund extra-curricular activities of all pupils in school.

To help keep the Calder and Hebble canal open by various activities, also we run a small trip boat which we take to different events on the waterways.

The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of the inhabitants of Calderdale and the surrounding area, in particular by the provision of facilities for swimming and other fitness and well-being activities.

HANG ON TO A DREAM IS A REGIONAL CHARITY BASED IN OTLEY AND COVERING ALL THE YORKSHIRE AREA. HANG ON TO A DREAM IS THE FIRST REGIONAL CHARITY FOR TERMINALLY ILL AND SERIOUSLY ILL CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE TO MAKE THEIR DREAMS COME TRUE.

Primary school charity, 'Parents, Teachers, Friends of Warley Association' School Fund, various activities include,events, fundraising for school, fundraising for others, activities for children and to purchase extra resources and pay towards school events/treats.

A charitable Motorcycle Group affiliated to the Institute of Advanced Motorists which aims to:improve the standard of motorcycle riding on the roads; improve road safety or lead to greater road safety or the promotion of road safety. This is achieved by volunteers coaching motorcyclists to pass nationally recognised advanced tests in the West Yorkshire area.

The Charity provides the only publicly accesssible, and owned, community building; providing rented space, and acting as a social hub for the benefit of residents of the Luddenden Valley areas.

No activities

The Western Front Association was formed with the aim of furthering interest in the period 1914-1918. It is not a re-enactment society, nor is it commercially motivated. It is entirely non-political. The object of The Association is to educate the public in the history of The Great War with particular reference to the Western Front.

Principally providing grants for underprivileged children transferring from primary to secondary school.Also some assistance for students entering university. Beneficaries must live within the area of the former Elland Urban District Council as at 1st April 1974.
