Facilities include a community cafe, music practice rooms and a recording studio. Community groups and events are also held within the halls. The Institute primarily exists to enable visually impaired people within the counties of Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan, Rhondda Taff, Merthyr, Swansea and Neath and Port Talbot to live a full and independent life. It seek to influence policies and practices of others and, in accordance with the resources it has available, complement the services provided by these organisations.

The charity provides 1-1 counselling sessions and preventative wellbeing workshops to decrease mental health difficulties, increase wellbeing and resilience within the community. The charity operates throughout Wales.

Pedal Power "makes cycling accessible to all'. It has a wide range of specialised bikes enabling people of all ages & abilities to cycle. It also runs a general cycle hire with bikes for all ages. We offer cycle training & bike maintenance training . Pedal Power undertakes bike recycling & bike maintenance and operates a cafe. There are many opportunities for volunteering & social activities.

We deliver therapeutic programmes for young people facing multiple disadvantages to help them get their lives back on track by involving them in meaningful activities at the Farm. We also work in partnership with other charities to reach out to different groups of vulnerable people and provide community facilities for everyone to enjoy the countryside and the benefits of nature.

Cardiff Foodbank aims to provide a supply of basic food to help clients through short term crisis situations caused by ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage and who are living in the City of Cardiff and its environs.The organisation collects, stores and distributes food to clients who are assessed to be in need by front line professional agencies in the city.
