The Men's Shed movement provides a community based atmosphere for men over 50 to engage in hobbies, community projects and general socialising. Carlton Lower School PTFA organises events and activities to raise money for the school. The money is used to help improve and maintain facilities and equipment both inside and outside the school. It also helps provide the children with additional entertainment events both during and after school, such as school disco or visiting theatre group.

Prison ministry, giving offenders bible studies, help and advise in back into society.Hospital /Hospice visiting the sick and the elderly.

To promote the advancement of public education through the study of local history in Biggleswade by holding monthly meetings and producing newsletters and publications.

To promote and advance public education in the Science of Astronomy and the provision of facilities for active participation in astronomical observation.

Provide facilities for various organisations to hold their meetings ie parish council meetings etc, classes for keep fit, pilates, yoga irish dancing, karate. The facilities are also used for wedding receptions, funeral wakes, children's parties and other social gatherings.
