SUMMER AND WINTER FAYRES,TRIPS FOR COMMUNITY,NON UNIFORM DAYS

The aims are to educate and inform and to enable members to participate with confidence and enjoyment in the community, being aware of current events and topics. Speakers on a wide range of subjects - educational and recreational. Members participate in sporting activities within the movement - darts, golf, croquet & bowls. Visits to theatre, and place of historic & general interest.

Undertake activities to enable women interested in issues associated with rural life, to improvetheir education in citizenship, public questions, music, culture, handicrafts, home economics,health and social welfare and to improve rural life

Promotion of Scottish Country Dancing in the Bedfordshire area by supporting weekly classes, providing a demonstration team which is available to perform at fetes, clubs, etc, and organising regular dances using recorded music and an annual ball with a live band.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS TO FUND CHARITABLE DONATIONS.

To relieve either generally or individually persons resident in the Parish of Maulden who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress.

We hold 40 meetings on a fortnightly basis during each year. We provide a variety of speakers and activities including educational, environmental, creative, charitable and social.

Friends of Refugees aim to relieve the needs and prevent or relieve poverty among refugees living (temporarily or permanently) in Bedford and the surrounding area and worldwide by providing and assisting in the provision of items such as clothing, bedding, shelter and toys and by providing advice and support services

Families

We raise money for local good causes. Our key fundraising event is the Street Collection Santa Float that we operate in the area each December.

Marlins is a well-established club providing swimming and other activities for people with special needs in the Bedford area. Swimming sessions take place on Sunday evenings and are supported by an experienced team of volunteers. Additionally various other social activities take place throughout the year. Membership is open to anyone regardless of age or disability.

THE FOUNDATION SEEKS TO SUPPORT BEDFORD GIRLS SCHOOL BY THE PROVISION OF FUNDS FOR BURSARIES AND CAPITAL PROJECTS

2/3 of income to the church charity, Reg No 206145. 1/3 of income to the parish nurse charity No 204752.

One major fund raising event per year for a chosen overseas charity. One major fund-raising event per year for a local or national charity. 2/3 smaller events for local charities fund raising event for any national/international emergency.

Various fund-raising activities are carried out under the auspices of the Rotary Club (e.g. golf event, sporting dinner). Donations are received from individuals and organisations.

PROMOTION OF PUBLIC ACCESS DEFIBRILLATION AND INSTALLATION OF DEFIBRILLATION EQUIPMENT ALONGSIDE TRAINING AND AWARENESS

SUPPORT OF CHURCH AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES, PARISH OF ST PAUL'S, ST ALBANS

To provide pastoral care to the night time community of Dunstable & Houghton Regis through trained volunteers from local churches. This service is undertaken every Saturday night between the hours of 10pm - 4am.
