CAVS is a support and development agency for voluntary and community organisations providing advice, information, networking opportunities and training to promote and develop the effectiveness of the voluntary sector in the locality. Bedford Hospitals Charity was founded in 1988 to improve the equipment and facilities for patients and staff at Bedford Hospitals. It has raised 9.5million, notably 2.5million for the Primrose Oncology Unit and 765,000 for cancer projects. The appeal to raise 750,000 to expand cancer services at Bedford is now complete and the current one is for a new MRI scanner costing over 1million.

Pippin Pre-School is a Committee run group established in the 1960s. The highly qualified team at Pippin are totally dedicated to the welfare of every child in their care. LIF was formed to give a voice to the Irish community in Luton and now, our welfare, social, and cultural services extend far beyond Luton and include Irish, Irish Traveller, and other communities.

We run over 80 classes each week teaching techniques drawn from complementary approaches to health alongside a complementary therapy clinic, a large counselling service, a Hertfordshire-wide, award-winning wellbeing programme for older people with mobility problems or who are living with long-term conditions and a programme introducing Mindfulness into local schools.

Providing a high quality home care and personal service to the elderly and housebound

The Cambridge Muslim Trust provide a focus of activities for Muslims living in the Cambridge and surrounding area. This enables the organisation of religious, educational, and social life within the community in light of the Islamic teachings and traditions.

The furtherance of the general religious and charitable purposes of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in Britain in the area of Luton and Leighton Area Meeting and beyond by for example strengthening the life and witness of Quaker Meetings; undertaking Quaker service for the relief of suffering at home and abroad; providing for the pastoral care of members and attenders.

We provide a day care service for adults with learning disabilities in the Bedford area, offering gardening, furniture renovation, and training in independent living skills.

PBIC provides a multilingual services including career advice, general advice, ESOL, Employability Skills courses. As part of our support to help migrant workers integrate into British society we organize social events, workshops and forums. We offer and encourage volunteering opportunities.We work with partners aiming to inform local and national strategies in relation to migrants.

To promote the Muslim faith by the following means:- 1) Providing and maintaining places of public worship and the due performance of the rites of burial according to the principles of the Muslim faith. 2) Teaching and educating the members of the Muslim community the practices of the Muslim faith.

The Charity aims to a) provide grants to individuals in Bedford, usually members of the Bunyan Meeting non-conformist Church, b) provide a grant towards the Church ministry,c) maintain the fabric of the church, manse and other investment buildings, d) maintain, operate and publicise the world - renowned John Bunyan Museum and library.
