The Friends make grants available to the potteries museums and art gallery and Gladstone Industrial Museum to enable them to acquire objects and carry out activities which they would otherwise not be able to do. The friends therefore only indirectly help the classifications shown above.

General charitable purposes and religious activities

Raising money to provide the children of Childer Thornton Primary School with additional resources which fall outside of the school budget. These resources may be educational or recreational, they may also be to enhance the learning environment within the school. The Association also raises money for charities connected to the children and the school community

FUNDRAISING TO GENERATE EXTRA INCOME TO IMPROVE THE EDUCATION AND WELFARE OF PUPILS AT WINWICK CE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Grants awarded to organisations for the good of the general public within the Cheadle area of Stockport under the auspices of the Cheadle area committee.

Provides accommodation for Brownies, WI, art classes, dance classes, keep fit as well as village social events.

The money distributed is from investments that have been bequeathed to the village over many years. The income is distributed in doles to elderly people, to Students, to Village Schools, Village Hall, Churches and Chapels.

The Friends of the Grand support the Blackpool Grand Theatre in different ways. They raise funds from subscriptions and social events to finance projects, primarily aimed at enhancing the comfort of our patrons. Over the last 30 years the Friends have contributed in excess of ?1million towards projects including the provision of new toilets, improved disabled access,i.e.chair lift new box office.

Raise funds by organising fairs, quiz nights etc., all monies raised at such events is either donated to the school or pays for school trips and extra school activities for the children.

For the purposes of a park, exercise or playground for the use, enjoyment and recreation of the inhabitants and visitors of the city and borough of Chester

To assist in the saving of human life in cases of shipwreck, fire and other dangers, in the North West.To recognize the actions of persons instrumental in saving, or attempting to save human life from danger, by the granting of medals, parchments and certificates.To encourage the teaching of techniques and methods of rescue and lifesaving on land, sea and in the air.

Assisting with the dissemination and supplying of Christian Education, especially to the young,within our remit area.

ORGANISATION OF EVENTS FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES OF WINCHAM SCHOOL, eg: SUMMER FAYRE, SCHOOL DISCOS, QUIZ NIGHTS, BAGS TO SCHOOL, CALENDARS, CINEMA AFTERNOONS & WEBB IVORY.

Our PTA is a combined effort between the pupils, parents and teachers at Mill View Primary school. We raise money so that the school can purchase resources and experiences for the pupils at this school which they might not have normally been able to do due to budget restrictions.
