Headingley Orphanage Foundation is empowered `to make grants to organizations with charitable objects serving the benefit of needy children and young persons up to the age of 21 years, and more particularly those within the geographical area known as Yorkshire, as the Trustees in their absolute discretion shall think fit.`

To provide advice, support to deafblind individuals residing in Yorkshire. This includes children and adults and their families.The charity aims to promote awareness and learning in the area of deafblindness to those families living in Yorkshire.

The relief of persons in the area of benefit who are in need, hardship or distress.

For the public benefit, to advance such charitable purposes (according to the law of England and Wales) as the trustees see fit from time to time, by making grants to charities and other organisations. Please note that the Trust will not consider unsolicited appeals for funding.

Within the City of York, the charity provides grants for 1. nursing/medical assistance, including appliances, medicines or other necessary items; 2. clothes, boots, linen, bedding, fuel, tools, food, or other articles in kind; and 3. (for persons under 21 years entering, or engaged in, any trade, occupation or service) outfits, payment of fees, instruction, or payment of travel expenses.

To promote, improve, develop and maintain education in and the appreciation of the art and science of choral music in all its aspects andparticularly but not exclusively to provide financial support for the general and musical education of choristers including the cost of providing training, scholarships, music, and instruments at both York Minster and Minster School.

The L.I.A.M. Charity raise funds through a variety of enterprises and give grants to young people studying at a higher level. i.e. University or specialist college within the county of Yorkshire.Certain criteria need to be fulfilled to access the grants of up to £1,000.

The charity holds meetings open to members and anyone from the Heslington locality who is interested in caring for the beauty, history, character and community of the village of Heslington and its surroundings. Where relevant, the charity makes representations to appropriate bodies to ensure that member's concerns are appreciated and appropriate action is taken, and organises community events.

Friends of Fishergate organise Social and Fund-raising activities for families and the local community, at Fishergate Primary School. They consult with the school to prioritise fundraising activities for specific projects linked to the school's own developments.

Relief of poverty

1. GAN Scholarship Fund supports girls who have academic ability but who do not have school fees in Gayaza High School. 2. Fundraising through networking amongst Gayaza Alumnae3. Fundraising through partnership working and joint events with other organisations4. Education of Girls in Uganda - support schools with bore holes for water, solar power, computer technology, school buildings.

The Yorkshire Saxophone Choir provides opportunities for advanced players of the saxophone to rehearse and perform challenging saxophone choir repertoire. It is also committed to helping young and inexperienced saxophonists to improve thier performance through workshops and joint performances.It is also dedicated to rasing puplic awareness of the diverse range of saxophone music.

The beneficial area is restricted to the Ecclesiastical Parish of St Michael-Le-Belfrey, York, with priority for the ancient parishes of St Wilfrid and St Michael-Le-Belfrey, York. The trustees provide relief to persons in need, hardship and distress.
