Wheldrake Out of School Club ( WOoSC) runs before and after school club for children aged 5 to 13 years of age

OCAY provides a free, confidential and independent advocacy service to older people in the City of York and its surrounding area in order to provide relief to older people in need.

Working with young students, who are struggling to engage with mainstream education, on alternative learning experiences including outdoor activities, small animal care, horticultural and workshop projects, to gain life skills, practical learning and support for them to return to full time education.

Grants must benefit/enhance the lives of children and young people under 25 living within a 20 mile radius of the centre of York. Applications are considered for educational, social and medical assistance where no stautory funding is available. Grants are awarded to children's/ young people's groups based in and around York but not to national organisations and charities without a clear York link.

The objective of the CIO is the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment of the Lower Derwent Valley.

Nether with Upper Poppleton is a parish within the Diocese of York, operating through St Everildas & All Saints Churches. We serve the local ecclesiastical parish, diocese & beyond through pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical activities of public worship, small group teaching, pastoral, youth & childrens work, supporting mission partners in UK & abroad an maintaining our Churches.

York Neighbours has a team of volunteers who offer support to people over the age of 65 living within the City of York in the following 3 ways:1) help with small practical one-off tasks2) making a regular phone call for a chat 3) occasional individual and group trips out

Bishopthorpe Preschool Playgroup caters for children aged 3 - 4 within Bishopthorpe. Our team of staff and committee work together to ensure that all children and their families are supported and happy. We offer a caring, exciting and stimulating environment for the children to learn and develop at their own pace. We also offer Forest School sessions and have excellent links with the local school.

Rescue and care of stray, feral and unwanted cats in order to find responsible and loving new homes for them.Educate the public on animal welfare and responsible cat ownership.

To provide and maintain a viable performing arts centre for community arts organisations and emerging professional theatre groups:1. to facilitate the development and presentation of live theatre in all its forms and2. in support of the performing arts assist in the promotion, maintenance, advancement and education of the entire community of York and surrounding areas

Operation of Almshouse

The Trust benefits communities within North Yorkshire, Teesside and Cumbria. The aims are: to help educate & develop young people, particularly those with phyical, learning, & mental health problems; disadvantaged groups; the conservation & improvement of the natural environment; to address the challenges of rural communities and any other charitable purposes considered oppropriate at the time.

The principal function of this charity is to promote in the parish the whole mission of the Church. The Parochial Church Council is governed by the Parochial Church Councils (Powers) measure 1956 and the Church Representation Rules (contained in Schedule 3 to the Synodical Government Measure 1969 as amended).

Acomb Baptist Church provides opportunities for people to discover more about the Christian faith and also provides opportunities for them to express and explore that faith in through engaging in Christian worship. The Church also provides opportunities for Christian service to the local community, a practical way of expressing and applying faith in every day life.

Gay & Peter Hartley's Hillards Trust makes grants to charities that support children's welfare, care for the elderly, mental/physical health, disability, & hospices. Our aim is to identify homeless Veterans living rough or in unsatisfactory accommodation . We then arrange suitable, sustainable accommodation in an individual or shared living environement,which ensures the candidate can access other relevant charities.
