Community Transport Services

The main areas of charitable actvitiy are the provision of counseling, advice, support and the advancement of the Christian religion.

We run participatory music sessions and projects for older, isolated and vulnerable people in care and community settings across York. We also run a large programme of intergenerational events and activities, which bring together beneficiaries with local school-children and students. We provide free transport for anyone who needs it and are supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.

The charity was established to enhance the Prajapati Community of Bradford and surrounding districts by providing communal facilities and promoting projects of a social, religious and educational nature.Religious - temple is open for twice daily and all Hindu festivals are celebrated.Social - Sports, keep fit classes, Mahila SamelanEducation - Mother tongue education provided on Sunday

Kids Kabin provides out of school care for children between the ages of 4 to 11 years, who attend Lord Deramores Primary School. A wide range of activities are offered, including various arts and crafts and a variety of toys and board games. Outdoor games are encouraged in fine weather, and a quiet area is available. Breakfast Club 8.00 to 8.50am, After School Club 3.15 to 5.45pm

Religious activities

The charity's activities are focused on the (a) the advancement of amateur sport by promoting the game of bridge for the benefit of the residents of York and the surrounding area.(b) the provision of facilities for the learning, teaching and playing of bridge for the benefit of the residents of York and the surrounding area.

St James the Deacon, Acomb Moor is part of the Diocese of York in the Church of England. It is the Anglican Parish Church for Woodthorpe, Acomb Park and Foxwood, along with parts of Dringhouses West and Acomb within the City of York. The parish was formed in the 1950s to meet the needs of growing new housing areas being built in the suburbs of South West York. We are an inclusive church.

The society's activities are to educate the public in the art and science of choral music in the presentation of concerts and other activities and in furtherance thereof to encourage and support other musical activities in the local area.

To provide for the relief of persons who were previously Sisters of the Holy Rood who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress and thereafter apply income to furthering the religious or other charitable work of the Church of England in the Diocese of York.

Playgroup provided for 3-4 year olds in the York, Acomb/Holgate area.

Regular public worship. Provision of sacred space for personal prayer and contemplation.pastoral work, including visiting the sick and bereaved, teaching Christianity through sermons , courses and small groups, provision of youth and children's work with a Christian ethos.

The charity's objects are to advance the education of the students and staff of Joseph Rowntree School and of the wider community by providing or assisting in the provision of educational, recreational and other charitable facilities undertaken by Joseph Rowntree School not normally provided by the local Education Authority.

THE COMMUNITY CENTRE IS OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY DURING DAY TIME AND IN THE EVENINGS FOR PRE BOOKED ACTIVITIES. U3A , VOLUNTEERS and INDIVIDUALS RUN CLASSES. OUR VOLUNTEERS AND INDIVIDUALS OFFER ACTIVITIES SOME OF WHICH ARE SPECIFICALLY FOR YOUTH WORK, AND ALSO FOR GROUPS WITH ADDITIONAL NEEDS. LIGHT REFRESMENTS ARE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE MONDAY TO SATURDAY.

Holgate Pre-School provides early years education for under 5s. It operates every week day in term time, for a maximum of 24 children. The pre-school is popular in the local community and there is a waiting list for new starters. The organisation is run by a committee of, mainly, parent volunteers.

Provides grants to other charitable organisations which carry out activities and support people in charitable need living in or around the City of York.

Parrabbola is a cultural organisation that specialises in community engagement through participatory creative activity. Parrabbola has a small management and artistic team that brings together independent freelance arts and cultural practitioners to work co-operatively on its community play, street festival projects and development programmes in the UK and overseas.

Working with children, young people, students, orphans and children with cancer in a practical way.Meeting the spiritual needs of our congregation and community.

Principal activity is the organisation of the annual Tockwith & District Agricultural and Horticultural show.

Little Badgers pre-school provides a safe and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to learn through play. Our sessions help children to develop skills and confidence prior to starting Primary school and give pre-school aged children and their families and opportunity to have fun and make friends. All our sessions take place at Badger Hill Primary School, York.

City of York AC is a local grassroots Athletic Club catering for beginner and elite athletes, newcomers and veterans alike. We offer quality and friendly training and competitions in a supportive environment providing opportunities for all participants to try all track and field events as well as road, cross country, trail and fell running. We also have an established disability athletes group.

Provision of grants to recognised organisations - no grants to individuals - in the supported geographical areas.The Charity provides assistance to young people to encourage training, education, and the improvement of their recreation activities. It also supports the elderly and disabled with community support.Priority is given to supporting local organisations.
