PROVIDES SCOUTING ACTIVITIES

The charity assists any child born, permanently residing in, or being educated at a school maintained by a local authority or having grant maintained status, in the parishes of Sedbergh, Howgill, Firbank, Cautley, Garsdale, Dent and Cowgill in Cumbria, to be educated in the appreciation of the art and science of music, and the teaching of the playing of any musical instrument to any such children.

Management and improvement of Langwathby Public Hall

To enable persons in Carlisle and the surrounding area as well as elsewhere who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those who may be at risk of suicide, to receive confidential emotional support at any time ofthe day or night in order to improve their emotional health and to reduce the incidence of suicide.

Running Village Hall building and grounds including an infant's play area for the use and benefit of the whole community of Melmerby

THE CHARITY PROVIDES FINANCIAL OR OTHER ASSISTANCE TO YOUNG PEOPLE BETWEEN THE AGES OF 16 AND 25 WHO RESIDE IN THE COUNTIES OF MERSEYSIDE, LANCASHIRE OR CUMBRIA TO ENABLE THEM TO SECURE EDUCATION OR TRAINING WITH A VIEW TO GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT OR SELF-EMPLOYMENT.

Christian worship throughout the year, events such as harvest, carol singing, exhibitions, weddings, baptisms and funerals. Welcoming visitors, the church is open each day. Maintenance of the buildings and churchyard. Providing information and publicity about the the church and surrounding area. Maintaining contact with and supporting the local community. Mission to walkers and climbers.

To promote and encourage the public study of British family history, genealogy, heraldry and local history with particular reference to Cumbria; to promote the preservation, security and accessibility of archival material.

Upkeep of almshouses at Boroughgate, Appleby in Westmorland, for the benefit of almspeople.

Parish church of the Greek Orthodox archdiocese.

Provides public live orchestral and choral/orchestral concerts employing a wide repertoire. Gives local amateur and semi-professional musicians the opportunity to play together. Encourages the appreciation of classical/light classical music. Provides opportunities for young people to develop musical and listening skills. Works with other musical, educational and community groups on joint projects.

To help young people towards responsible adulthood by encouraging valuable personal attributes and high standards of conduct, using a nautical theme based on the customs of the Royal Navy.

We have continued to provide financial assistance to disadvantaged, sick, disabled children and other charities in this field. We also operate mini buses which are available to organisations who need transport for disadvantaged children. We have also held fund raising events in the area.

To manage, operate and maintain the fabric of Houghton Village Hall premises. To make these available to organisations, groups and individuals for their activities, meetings, functions, parties and operations which in turn is for the general benefit of the local community.

We look after 6 almshouses which are primarily available to people over 55 years of age who live within the four parishes surrounding Grayrigg or who have a connection with those parishes. In exceptional circumstances the almshouses are available to people who live outside the area of benefit and who have no connection with the parishes.
